Wonder Park, Review: Who said it can’t be done?
Wonder Park, Review: Who said it can’t be done? Released in the USA with a PG certificate, Wonder Park is about an imaginary amusement park created by the imagination of a 10-year old girl and her mother. It tweaks logic and science to create fantastical rides and talking animals, making conventional amusement parks look like child’s play. It’s good holiday viewing for the 5-12 age-group, with a riot of colours and exciting thrills, causing adrenaline rushes, with the ...
22 Yards, Review: Short of a length
22 Yards, Review: Short of a length When you pitch for a film on cricket (pun intended), you better go the whole 22 yards. In cricket, the length of the pitch, from stumps at one end to stumps at the other, is all of 22 yards. That is where the main action of the game takes place. So, with a giveaway title like 22 Yards, you can expect nothing but a film on cricket. Now let me state here, for the benefit of readers from countries that do not play cricket that in India, religion, cinema and cr...
Photograph, Review: Ode dear
Photograph, Review: Ode dear If only vignettes and mosaics could add up to a good script, Photograph would look refreshingly different. If improvised dialogue and incomplete scenes could substitute for a coherent narrative, Photograph would find its place in the album of memorable cinema. Forlornly, though, Ritesh Batra’s Photograph unpeels itself like the layers of an onion, offering emptiness at the end of the exercise, instead of discovery and resonance. Arriving with a sumptuous tr...

Orientalism from Anna Polibina-Polansky and More
ORIENTALISM HAS PROVED TO BE ONE OF MY RECENT BASIC GENRES. Esperimental cinema of Mediterranean knighthood, medieval subjects (miniatures, manuscripts, verses) and annual reports of knights' orders are now acclaimed to be my fresh themes. Featurings and documentaries of restricted length (up to 30 minutes each), because of the versified and symbolically-publicistic forms, prove to be a new layer at my genre vision. I spread my feature research onto the countries up to the Far East and Sou...

THE CREEPY LINE a film by M.A.Taylor 2018
"A film that Google does not want you to see - filmfestivals.com Best for Fest"
An eye-opening documentary, The Creepy Line reveals the stunning degree to which society is manipulated by Google and Facebook and blows the lid off the remarkably subtle – hence powerful – manner in which they do it.
The Creepy Line is a title culled from the words of former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, when during a 2010 interview he explained Google’s code of conduct: “The Google policy on a lot of things is to get right up to the creepy line and not cross it.”
However, as Dr. Robert Epstein explains in the film, “Google crosses the creepy line every day”.
Offering first-hand accounts, scientific experiments and detailed analysis, The Creepy Line examines what is at risk when these two tech titans have free reign to utilize the public’s most private and personal data to manipulate society.
There is no question that the “creepy line” is getting ever-creepier, and that the tech giants have crossed it.
The Creepy Line plays at The Socially Relevant Festival in NY March 19
