Colson Baker, aka Machine Gun Kelly, got onscreen to present his own struggles through the cautionary tale of a fictional character with echoes of himself. “It was very uncomfortable because it was a very meta movie.” Taurus is about a troubled musician who pushes himself into a dark yet deep place to create his very last song. Baker is outspoken in his own laidback manner, spouting phrases like “Life is grim. It isn’t Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” but that “One sliver of hope is all you need.”

When asked about what he wanted the attendees to take away, it’s that “I hope we can follow what Ilana [played by Maddie Hasson] does: work hard to see the good in people.”
