Pillow talk: face to face with a dangerous future

"While laying in bed, a mysterious couple confronts their undeniable emotional and physical connection, but when their violent past collides with their peaceful present they come face to face with a dangerous future. "

The New York International Film Festival (NYIFF) in conjunction with Film Festival Week - NYC today announced the East Coast Premiere of 'Pillow Talk', an action-packed narrative short starring Moniqua Plante (HBO/Cinemax series 'Femme Fatales', 'Southland' and 'Ghost Whisperer') and Adriano Aragon ('Ringer'). 'Pillow Talk' will screen as part of the first ever Film Festival Week on Saturday, November 19 at 4pm at the Quad Cinema (34 W13 St). Previously, the short has received a slew of accolades, including the Audience Choice Award at HollyShorts and Best Short Film at Indie Fest; and especially for actress Moniqua Plante who won Breakout Action Star and Best Female Performance at the Action on Film International Festival this July and Best Actress from the Best Shorts Competition.

'Pillow Talk' tells the story of a hot, mysterious couple who confront their undeniable emotional and physical connection while lying in bed. But when their violent past collides with their peaceful present, they come face to face with a very dangerous future. 'Pillow Talk' is written, directed and edited by actor-turned director John Wynn, and produced by Lead Actress, Plante.

On making the short Wynn commented, "Moniqua and I were tossing around ideas for a short film when she confided in me this idea of playing an action heroine who was heartbroken. We then started talking about our own past mistakes, present opportunities, and what the future might hold. That got my mind racing and later that day, I wrote 'Pillow Talk' in a mad dash of coffee, cursing, and soul searching." Wynn further stated, "we look forward to screening our film to a wider audience."

Moniqua Plante said,  'Pillow Talk' was really a labor of love. It was the first time a part was written specifically for me, so it was a dream to play especially with such a wonderful partner in crime, lead actor Adriano Aragon. The shoot was extraordinarily seamless considering how tough independent shoots can be, this was a piece of cake, a really sinfully delicious piece of cake."

"We are delighted to be screening 'Pillow Talk' as part of Film Festival Week short film lineup," said program director Nicole Holland. "Skillful direction, superb acting and a spot-on script make 'Pillow Talk' a must see film about love/hate relationships - we are confident New Yorkers will love it."
