Independent Film Quarterly Magazine (IFQ) hosts an exclusive red carpet awards party during Cannes.
Independent Film Quarterly today announced that they will honor award-winning filmmakers and notable film production companies dedicated to independent filmmaking at a special reception during the 64th annual Cannes Film Festival. IFQ will host an invitation-only party at 7pm on Sunday May 15th at the Penthouse Terrace on the Croisette overlooking the Mediterranean. Filmmakers from all over the globe will be presented with custom made plaques in front of members of the press, distributors, buyers, investors, consulate officials and film talent.
IFQ's senior editor Anoo Cottoor commented, "I am very proud of our versatile and superbly talented filmmakers and we are so ready to celebrate their impressive contribution to the independent film industry." Cottoor continued, "Cannes is such a prestigious global event and it will be extraordinary opportunity for the latest wave of indie filmmakers to make great connections and perhaps even ink deals." Filmmakers hailing from Jamaica, Scotland, Austria, Colombia, Tokyo, The Philippines, and all over the US are expected to walk the red carpet. The confirmed lineup of honorees are as follows: Ben-Hur Sepehr (The Desperate), Andreas Auinger and Rainer Kantz (Space Tours - Mission E.V.A), Andy Cassels (Seance Fiction/Mixed Messages), Analie Lucion, Elsie Abella, Dr. Fred Medina, Wilma Banaga and Carla Canarias (Latus), Angela Hinton (Animation: A Palette of Possibilities), Nick Taylor (Paradise East), David Sterling (Your Sweet Love), Jeremy Sanson (Mutant Sessions), Galina Likosova and Hernán Humberto Restrepo (NTERDÍS Group), Etienne Goldet, Paul Harth and Cee French Harth (Chiron Films, Inc).
Guests will enjoy complimentary food and drinks and the complete list of talent attending will be forthcoming.
Sponsors for the evening include Independent Film Quarterly and the Beverly Hills Film, TV & New Media Festival.
