Between Dream State and "In Development" Orson Welles and Cheap Champagne

Making Films is not, has not, and will never be easy even in our climate change of instant images and even faster results. We believe everyone"else"  is outputting nonstop 24/7  in the dawning of nano-technology and Youtube. For a creative driven mind-soul or woeful personality (is that not the same thing?) The key to all of these funsense is FOCUS and VISION luck and timing if it happens before you die.

So what is this all about? Well maybe its a pick me up for writers and filmmakers anyone with a vision. The backbone to a creative endeavour is process and not to fear the lull, the silence the inbetweens or the doubts which inevitably creep into our sleepy souls at three in the morning. Bon chance et bon reves. Good luck and sweet dreams.

What an utter paradox anti-creative "reality" to maintain an even flow of film unless we are MEGA studio we simply cannot measure time in the same increments as the 18 months cycle of mega-studio.. Is it possible to  sustain ourselves to the next project without like minded people and artist-sensitive administrators? Well the truth is we can't, unless you/me/us are an island unto yourself and indeed there are a few of them around. But this is not about them. I dare say Orson Welles was almost an island arguably destroyed by tsunami "Ahead of Your Time" Charlie Chaplin was a fortunate visionary with a TEAM as is Woody Allen. In this modern age we can say you have a team of believers ready to sacrifice and fight for you on all fronts particularly the In development " phase - where little cash and "believe in my vision" salesmanship is the hardest thing any self-respecting filmmaker can do...(self -respecting? F-that!) "But this is not about self-respect either...and maybe respect is not even part of the equation. Just watch Orson here below in an outtake for California Wines. Orson was untouchable. He was simply Orson Welles reduced or promoted to doing a cheap champagne ad for quick cash. The director wasn't going to say a word but reality bites hard when life passes you by like a bits of startdust and you need some butter on your bread.
