Venice Gap-Financing Market Call for projects 2020 opened

The call will be online on the website www.labiennale.org through April 30th 2020

La Biennale di Venezia announces the new call for the Venice Gap-Financing Market that opens today, Monday February 17th 2020, launched on the website www.labiennale.org (call open through April 30th 2020).

The seventh Venice Gap-Financing Market will be held from September 4th to 6th 2020, as part of the Venice Production Bridge at the 77th Venice International Film Festival (2-12 September 2020) directed by Alberto Barbera.

The Venice Gap-Financing Market is a platform for selected projects, that aims to support European and international producers in securing full funding for their projects (fiction, documentaries and VR Immersive Story projects) through one-to-one meetings with professionals in the field (producers, sales agents, distributors, financiers, broadcasters and funds). All the invited professionals are decision-makers.

The call is open to European and international projects, in the following categories:

  • Film and Documentaries: up to 27/33 projects for feature films and narrative or creative documentaries, including 3 Biennale College Cinema projects, will be selected from all around the world. There are no limitations on genre, and animation films are welcome.
  • VR Immersive Stories: up to 10/12 VR projects will be selected from all around the world.

During the 3-day event (4 – 6 September 2020), the 7th Venice Gap-Financing Market will present up to 45 European and international projects, along with the VR projects developed through the Biennale College Cinema – Virtual Reality.
