Better World Fund Gala during the Venice Film Festival: very successfull reception at Scuola Grande della Misericordia Venezia

By Alice Kanterian for

Koembu, a young Indigenous activist from National Geographic’s multiple-award-winning documentary, “The Territory”   received the Better World Fund Prize for the Best Achievement in Filmmaking with a strong message to raise awareness for the  environment in Rondonia/Brazil. "I hope  that by making the film this film you  know more about the dangers we face."
The trailer of the film about the indigenous population protecting their land was presented by Darren Aronofky, whose film "The Whale " runs also in the official competition and has good chances to receive the Golden Lion or a Coppa Volpi for Brandon Frazer's performance. We must wait till Saturday when the Award ceremony of the film festival will take place.
Coming back to the award ceremony of the Better World Fund we must highlight the presence of Italian actress of Romanian origine Madalina Menghea, who received an award and made an emotional speech,  she is the new Ambassador of the Better World Fund!
I was quite taken by her beauty paired with modesty! And then the famous actress and director Nadine Labaki was awarded. I was impressed by her performance in  Costa Brava, Lebanon and interviewed director Mounia Akl at El Gouna Film Festival last year.

What an amazing performance by Chrystabell,  a muse of David Lynch. I couldn't stop thinking of Kate Bush and she confirmed after performance beeing a big admirer of Kate Bush.

And coming to an end the most famous French actress Catherine Deneuve,  the star of the today festivity was honoured.

We are what we eat Manuel Collas de la Roche says at the beginning!

“When we have greater awareness and broader consciousness, we use higher individual and collective intelligence and become capable of solving all the problems that worry us, from climate change to poverty, from economic inequality to border disputes, without becoming mired in the bickering involved in the everyday run of politics and elections or, more importantly, resorting to war,” said Dr. Tony Nader, who is also the bestselling author of “One Unbounded Ocean of Consciousness” (Penguin Random House).
