MED-SCREEN partners with MIFFThe Malta International Film Festival is honored to announce the agreement for partnership with a program of Euromed Audiovisual II.
This program named Med-Screen will be supporting the section of the festival dedicated to Arab cinema (Arabesk). Within the framework of the Euromed Audiovisual Program of the European Union, the Med-Screen project aims to enhance the visibility of the films originating from 8 Arab countries, and to increase their chances to be commercialized in the partners countries. This program has been put together by a consortium of four organization: Beirut D.C. (Lebanon), Europa Cinemas (France), Ankara Cinema Association (Turkey), Europanet by A.I.A.C.E. (Italy). The program is already promoting the films from the Arab countries and territories of the MEDA region in the main film markets in Europe (Cannes, Berlin…). The event is organized by – Association pour l'échange culturel entre l'Europe et l'Orient (AECEO) an association based in Paris with the cooperation of AraMage Artistic Production, a leading international production company and AJR Events a leading event management company in Malta with the support of the Maltese Ministry of tourism and culture. The festival board has approached a number of international celebrities to participate in the first round as guests, tributes and jury members. Also a number of international cinema organizations and companies have been approached to participate in this event. The festival will have more than five different sections with an international competition for long feature films. An international film market will be held during the festival with participation of more than 50 international companies and organizations than and the festival will held more than ten different activities. The festival aims to promote Malta as a desirable film shooting location and to open a dialogue between cinema professionals all over the world.
