Little Studio Films breathes new life into the serial killer thriller genre with Lazarus Rising

Little Studio Films has partnered up with Miami based Magic City Pictures and screenwriter A.J. Ferrara to introduce their latest thriller project, "Lazarus Rising", at AFM 2014.

International actor Max Ryan has signed on for the lead role and both Little Studio Films  and Magic City PIctures will be presenting to potential production partners and international distributors at the 2014 American Film Market. It will be directed by Jameson Hesse, a published author and emerging film maker, whose short film "FATHER MUD" Little Studio Films also produced.

The story is based, in part, on the chilling “Black Legend” of an insane 18th century Italian Prince, who created two so-called Anatomical Machines that are still on display in Naples’ Chapel of San Severo, to this day. Set in present day New York City, an old school Manhattan detective tracks a tortured doctor turned serial killer, whose remorse over his fiancé’s death, results in a twenty year killing spree and a recreation of the Prince’s ghastly experiments, in order to prove the existence of an afterlife.

“Its dark tone and style are reminiscent of  "Silence of the Lambs" and "Seven". We are extremely excited to have Max on board,” said Alexia Melocchi. He has an incredible amount of charisma and will be a perfect fiit for this role. "Casting of other actors  is underway and we are confident we will have a very strong ensemble of actors" says Alexandra Yacovlef.

Ryan, who recently co-starred with Nicholas Cage in “Rage,” is best known for his roles in Sex in the City 2, Death Race and The League Extraordinary Gentlemen.  Ryan is represented by TCA/Jed Root and LINK Management.

Alexia Melocchi and Alexandra Yacovlef , the partners in Little Studio Films are industry veterans, having sold over 100 American movies for theatrical international distribution clients through their company Axelia International Pictures. Little Studio Film’s mission is to create a bridge between the international film community and American talent. LSF just completed production of Stealing Roses, starring John Heard (Entourage, Home Alone) and Ice Scream starring Laura Harring and Spencer Treat Clark.

Little Studio Films anticipates a scheduled Spring 2015 shoot.
