Sensational, New Thai Film 'Poompuang'

Watch out for a sensational, new Thai film 'Poompuang' (The Moon) that will be released in Bangkok tomorrow, and seems destined to be a mega-hit in Thailand.

Why?

Because it centres around the real-life story of the country's most famous 'luk thung' country music singer, whose dramatic, romantic, tragic rags-to-riches tale is superb stuff for cinema. Which is why this film is un-stoppable.

Poompuang, the famous 60's singer, died suddenly and shockingly of lupus,at the age of 31. But before that, she had created a huge body of 600 songs that  still resonate throughout the country. That's why every song in the film will set the Thai hearts racing.

More remarkable, is the fact, that the lead-actress playing the role, Paowaree Panpimol,is an absolute debutant, with uncannily the same background as Poompuang - a country girl from the small town of Supanburi, dreaming starry dreams. And along comes this amazing role of a life-time, both as singer and actress. Paowaree sinks her 'voice' into the role, and sets the screen on fire.

Looks like history is going to be made again.

Another rags-to-riches story in the offing.

All credit goes to director Bundit Thongdee for playing a great Pygmalion

And looks  like this Eliza will sure hit the  jackpot---watch out,Bangkok.
