La Guarimba International Film Festival

Amantea is a small town of 15.000 inhabitants located in the Coast of the Calabria Region, between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the mountain.
The only three theaters have been shut down and the only way to see a movie is going to the cinemas in the nearest cities.
La Guarimba International Film Festival was born to bring the cinema to the people and the people to the cinema, with the aim of giving back the magic of the cinematograph to the town's inhabitants, to spread the work of local and international filmmakers and also to foster the culture of Calabria.
During the event we will offer a chance to taste the gastronomy of the region, to attend to filmmaking workshops, live music and outdoor projections of our official selection.
From La Guarimba Film Festival we truly recommend to all of our contestants to come to Amantea and make a train or bus tour through Calabria and Sicilly.
Since this is a Festival whose main goal is to promote culture, we offer information about the places that are worth seeing, their best flavors and more to our contestants.
