Beware of fake EKO READ THIS
ATTENTION NIGERIAN COPYRIGHT COMMISSION, NATIONAL FILM &VIDEO CENSORS BOARD, NIGERIAN FILM CORPORATION, AFRICAN MOVIE ACADEMY AWARDS, ET AL.
Dear Sir/Madam,
We have just noticed the TV advert of the dubious "AMP-Eko International Film Festival" running on Silverbird TV station in Nigeria in which the Nigerian Copyright Commission, National Film & Video Censors Board, Nigerian Film Corporation, Mr. Ben Murray-Bruce, Silverbird Television, African Movie Academy Awards, Nollywood Cinemas, Diamond Pictures and others are named and announced as co-partners/sponsors of this dubious "AMP-Eko International Film Festival" which is a counterfeit and trademark piracy of our duly registered and copyrighted EKO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, http://www.ekoiff.com/team.htm.
The Nigerian Copyright Commission has been formally notified of this unlawful act by Mr. Paul Obazele of Royal Pictures, who should be prosecuted for the counterfeiting and trademark piracy of EKO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL.
Mr. Paul Obazele's "AMP-Eko International Film Festival" is a scam and a sham to swindle ignorant stakeholders and the public by his conceit and deceit. He has repeatedly ignored all our objections and please to desist from the fragrant duplication and piracy of our locally and internationally recognized Eko International Film Festival and deliberately confusing our prospective sponsors, partners and the public on the status of our film festival. This has caused us costly damages in loss of lucrative sponsorships, partnerships and investments since 2009 to date.
Mr. Paul Obazele's partners and sponsors may tolerate corruption and the fragrant abuse of copyright laws in Nigeria and the rest of the world, but Nigerians Report and associates have a zero tolerance policy on corrupt practices.
Be warned again, that the so called "AMP-Eko International Film Festival" of Mr. Paul Obazele's Royal Pictures is a trademark piracy of the duly registered Eko International Film Festival of Supple Communication Limited.Supporting the illegal "AMP-Eko International Film Festival" makes the Nigerian Copyright Commission and others mentioned in the public TV advert of "AMP-Eko International Film Festival" complicit in the counterfeiting of Eko International Film Festival and implicated in the trademark piracy which would make you subject to litigation.
In view of the international reputation and status of Eko International Film Festival, we have to notify all the filmmakers, film societies and other practitioners who are stakeholders in the film industry to beware of the illegal violation of our duly copyrighted international film festival by those who practice and perpetrate violations of intellectual property locally and internationally before they do more damage to the development of the film industry.
Any application for visa or press accreditation by any person, persons or group using the name of "AMP-Eko International Film Festival" is an impersonation and misrepresentation of the authorized members and officials of our duly registered and copyrighted Eko International Film Festival (EKOIFF).
The real members and officials of the legal and fully copyrighted Eko International Film Festival are shown on the official website on http://www.ekoiff.com/team.htm.
We shall not allow this unlawful violation of copyright laws to continue no matter the class and status of the perpetrators and their collaborators in public or private offices.
Your dignity and integrity is at stake locally and internationally.
This case will prove whether there is a rule of law in Nigeria or not. And challenge the lawbreakers that nobody is above the law, except the law is an ass in Nigeria.
Sincerely,
Ekenyerengozi Michael Chima
