XR:WA returns in 2020

Welcome to XR:WA 2020! After an enormously successful and ambitious year in 2019, the 2020 program moves to a new location with a wingspan that embraces enterprise and business, art and entertainment, architecture, engineering and design, education and training, science and innovation and everything in between.

XR:WA returns to Perth in 2020 XR:WA represents WA’s major annual screen industry event and embraces those working in the traditional screen sector, immersive technology and games to provide new perspectives in connecting with audiences and clients, new ways of exploring and exploiting the tech revolution and new ways of collaborating and sharing.

It works toward building bridges and linking traditionally siloed sectors to build a critical mass of energy and activity in WA and harnessing new and adventurous approaches in the way we connect with audiences and individuals across multiple platforms and territories.

ULTRA EARLY BIRD REGISTRATIONS NOW OPEN
We’re starting to gear up for the July 2020 event with early programming and venue information coming to hand daily - and for those who get up early enough, we’re offering a full registration to XR:WA at more than 50% off the full rate - but only for 48hrs! Registration includes access to our delegate lounge, the full range of talks, masterclasses, panels, keynotes, networking events and much more. Click here to see what’s and offer and to register for only $150!

XR:WA LOCATIONS
We’re at a new home for 2020 and spreading ourselves across the Perth Cultural Centre. Our main exhibition trade show floor is in the Centenary Rooms of the Art Gallery of WA and our Delegate Lounge is located in the same space in the old Perth Courthouse. We’ve got major keynotes, talks, screenings and workshops happening at the WA State Library, special installations and events at PICA and the Blue Rooms KAOS Theatre, intimate talks at The Alex Hotel and our fantastic Beer and Board games nights at Studio Startup.
They all within minutes of each other by foot and almost all are fully accessible for abled and disabled. Take a look here.

EARLY PROGRAMS ANNOUNCED
Our program is starting to take shape even at this early point with talks, panels and workshops looking at building resilient businesses, connecting with audiences, immersive technology and social impact, using existing technology for new purposes and more. New programs will be added to the site as they happen, with some very exciting announcements happening even over the next few days, so keep an eye out here.

ACADEMIC CONFERENCE
As part of XR:WA, we’re also integrating the Revelation Academic Conference. Over two days from July 9-10, this conference encourages critical discussion and debate around all things immersive, games and cinema with the only academic conference of its type in the country. Join scholars and speakers from around Perth, the country and the world as they dissect and analyse the sector in vibrant, unexpected and critical ways. Registration is only $150 and includes morning tea, lunch, networking during access to the Delegate Lounge and nightly networking drinks.

PARTNER WITH XR:WA
If you’re a business and you’re wanting to reach our diverse delegate and community base through the conference and public exhibition, we’d love to hear from you. With events, spaces and activities to align your business with, there’s ample opportunity to effectively and economically reach audiences across the conference proper, the academic conference, the public exhibition and the Revelation Perth international Film Festival with high-quality screen-time and high-impact reach throughout the year. With a total audience of around 22,000 there’s enormous opportunity to reach who you want to reach with tailored promotions and placement.

XR:WA also adopts ethical partnership practices. For further information, contact Richard at richard@xrwa.com.au

REVELATION PERTH INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
For those of you who also love cinema, XR:WA runs in parallel with the Revelation Perth International Film Festival which screens more than 200 international feature films, documentaries and short films from the world over. From July 2-12, Revelation is WA’s major international film festival event and regarded as one of the country’s most important independent annual screen culture events.
