Veteran Filmmaker Forms A Baker Production with Tello Films is Distribution Arm focused on LGBTQ+

2021 Slate of Films in Post-Production Feature Such Stars as

Lindsay Wagner, Amanda Righetti & Kelly McGillis, Among Others

Veteran filmmaker Christin Baker, who launched the successful LGBTQ+, SVOD platform, Tello Films, in 2009—the first network dedicated to telling stories featuring and about lesbian/queer women—has announced the launch of a new production entity, A Baker Production.

Writer/producer/director Baker is known for critically acclaimed, queer feature films and series with powerful, original soundtracks, appearing On Demand in addition to Tello’s proprietary SVOD channel.

With offices in Nashville and Los Angeles, A Baker Production will specialize in bigger-name productions across all genres, while Tello Films will continue to produce LGBTQ+ films for the successful Tello Films queer streaming network and serve as the companies’ distribution arm.

First up under the Baker Films 2021 production umbrella, both slated for release in 4th quarter, are:

·       The holiday romcom, Christmas at the Ranch, in post-production, starring Lindsay Wagner (Grey’s Anatomy; SyFy’s Warehouse 13; The Bionic Woman, The Six Million Dollar Man, Marcus Welby, M.D.), Amanda Righetti (Captain America: The First Avenger, Friday the 13th, The Mentalist), Archie Kao (Chicago P.D.; CSI: Crime Scene Investigations and as the Blue Galaxy Ranger on FOX-TV’s Power Rangers) and Laur Allen (The Young and the Restless).

·       Also in post-production, the feature-length documentary A League of Our Own—in collaboration with Spotlight Productions (SpoPro)—which celebrates the 30-year legacy of the International Women's Flag Football Association, which has been using the vehicle of flag football to empower young women from around the world. Includes interviews with Kelly McGillis (Showtime’s The L Word; Top Gun; Witness); American author, journalist, motivational speaker and long-distance swimmer Diana Nayad; and many others who have supported the organization over the years.

Commented Baker, “I’m very excited to be expanding our breadth of filmmaking with the launch of Baker Films and look forward to making bigger production films and entertaining new audiences in addition to our beloved queer community, which has staunchly supported us since our inception.”

Past films and series of note from Tello Films, include:

·         I Hate New Year’s (2020), a holiday romcom starring actress/singers Dia Frampton (runner up in the inaugural season of The Voice and lead singer of the band Meg & Dia) and Ashley Argota (The Fosters, Lab Rats, Broadway’s The Lion King) and Candis Cayne (The Magicians, Grey's Anatomy, I Am Cait, Elementary, Dirty Sexy Money).

·         Season of Love (2019), a romantic comedy starring Dominique Provost-Chalkley (Wynonna Earp, 12 Monkeys, Avengers: Age of Ultron), Jessica Clark (Pocket Listing, True Blood, A Perfect Ending) and Emily Goss (L.A.’s Finest, Snapshots, Future Man, The House on Pine Street).

·         The Emmy-nominated series Secs & Execs (2017), starring Sandra Bernhard (Pose, Roseanne, 2 Broke Girls, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The L Word), Daniela Bobadilla (The Middle, Anger Management) and Parvesh Cheena (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, The Goldbergs, Outsourced).
