Based on the best selling novel by Stephenie Meyer “Twilight”, the film has just been nominated to seven MTV Movie Awards including the one for the best original song (“Decode” by Paramore). 53-year old Hardwicke, a former successful architect and set designer (Three Kings, Vanilla Sky and Laurel Canyon) is considered as one of the representatives of high quality American cinema and has been a member of the Jury at Sundance Film Festival. Among her previous films as a director, we mention Thirteen and Lords of Dogtown. In Italy, she shot the Bible film Nativity. But world wide fame has arrived with the difficult love story of the good vampire (Robert Pattinson, one of the stars of Harry Potter) that has originated a real vampire-mania with dedicated fan clubs, blogs and web sites. The second chapter of the saga, “New Moon”, based on the second novel by Meyer, and directed by Chris Weitz, will open in Italy in November. The film was partly shot in Italy, in the historical Tuscany’s villages. 09.05.2009 | Editor's blog Cat. : American cinema architect and set designer Arte Campania Cannes Cannes Catherine Hardwicke Catherine Hardwicke CDATA Chris Weitz Director Dogtown Film General Ischia Italy Literature MTV MTV Movie Awards Naples New Moon New Moon Person Attributes Person Career Robert Pattinson Robert Pattinson Speculative fiction Stephenie Meyer Stephenie Meyer Sundance Film Festival Technology Technology The Twilight Saga Tuscany Twilight Twilight series |
