g5t1x.jpeg

The last part of the 15th edition of the Geneva International Oriental Film Festival (FIFOG) will be launched on Friday 25 September. The curtain closes on the 27th of this month. This theatrical edition takes place in several places: Photoforum Pasquart in Biel, Cinémas du Grütli, Function: Cinema and THE Crowned Eagle (CHIC).

This special programmation of the festival is above all dedicated to the gentle resistance movement and includes films made by directors from the East and the West. The official opening, which will take place on Friday evening, will wear Iranian colors with the screening of the film "African Violet" by Mona Zandi Haghighi. The closing, meanwhile, will be tinged with Algerian hopes with the screening of the film "Algérie, mon amour" by Mustapha Kessous with the support of the Association Le Pont Genève.

In between, the public will discover “Tata Milouda” by Nadja Harek, presented in collaboration with the Office for the Promotion of the Bureau de promotion de l’égalité et de prévention des violences (BPEV) and the Association Rinia Contact, and “À notre tour !" by Hanna Assouline, presented in collaboration with the JCall Suisse association. The public will also discover several short films as relevant as they are fresh.

FIFOG will receive around ten guests from abroad who are available for interviews. Among others, there will be present Madame Milouda Chaqiq, the protagonist of the film "Tata Milouda", as well as Madame Hanna Assouline, the director of the film "A notre tour!" as well as the crew of the film "Je suis Cyrano" by Salah Issaad and Réda Seddiki. Mazigh Bouaich and Anaëlle Morf will also be present to defend their film, respectively, the "Albatros" and "Blind date à la Juive".
