Studio Beyond Launches new online plaform for filmmakers

After three years of intensive development, Studio Beyond offers a fully-comprehensive online business platform where aspiring and established professionals can have barrier-free access to producers, sales agents, distributors, and financiers worldwide. This is the first global online office environment designed to service the special needs of the film and TV industries. These tools enable users to integrate all of their professional activities into one dedicated mobile office, and in fact, one deceptively simple screen!

The idea is the brainchild of Jasmin Prosser, Studio Beyond's founder and CEO. Ms Prosser first conceived the bespoke online office concept three years ago, after spending some time in LA's film industry. "I was surprised to see how many talented and skilled people find it hard to break into the movie industry, mostly due to a lack of connections," she recalls. "We are fully committed to supporting emerging talent, and believe that creativity should not be hindered by barriers or connections, and that creativity understands only one language: self-expression."

A World beyond Facebook

"People have called our online office 'a Facebook for the film industry'," comments Prosser, "but it's beyond that. It's a commercial outlet with a fully fledged online studio office which provides a '360-degree' service in-which anyone from talent seeking employment to producers seeking funding to distributors seeking content (and everyone in-between) can connect with each-other and start doing business online."

What does the online studio office offer?

The platform combines a number of social media elements and a handful of other tools in one centralized home page location. These tools include multi-media uploaders and readers, and facilities to generate Talent, Executive and Press calls and auditions, as well as hosting or attending online screenings.

With a few clicks these tools allow users to make contacts easily, to manage key relationships or directly participate in film or TV projects. Privacy settings are easy to manage and can be varied from one project to another for all groups and individual contacts.

Using this platform, entertainment professionals have access to key collaborators at their fingertips. Technically, the interface is very simple, as it does not involve browsing through various windows or tabs to employ multiple online applications. All functions are integrated through Alerts, which automatically guide a user to take action, along with simple, easy-to-use tools to execute key tasks.

"This mobile office gives users freedom to integrate professional activities across borders of time, geographic location and social constraint. It bypasses the old system of endless middlemen preventing those in support and finance roles from interfacing in the film industry," says Prosser.

Who benefits from the Studio Beyond virtual office?

The online studio office will benefit film and TV industry professionals as well as members of the press. Customized packages exist for three distinct groups:

  1. Executives (Producers, Studio Executives, Distributors, Sales Agents, Film Financiers, Casting and Talent Agents, TV Broadcasters, Exhibitors, Film Festivals)
  2. Talent (Actors, Directors, Writers, Editors, Composers)
  3. Members of the Press (Journalists, Film Publicists, Editors, Film Critics)

What the industry are already saying about Studio Beyond:

Adrian Paul, Actor (HIGHLANDER): "Studio Beyond will change the way movies are made and the way they are distributed - the old model soon won't exist anymore."

Anthony Waller, Director (AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN PARIS): "There are a lot of artificial barriers in place in the current system, which prevent direct communication from happening. Studio Beyond removes those barriers with this online platform."
