Sonoma Film Fest kicks off with Special Documentary Film Dinner - Bethany Hamilton: Unstoppable –

22ND ANNUAL SONOMA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL PRESENTS

A Festival Kick-off

Special Documentary Film Dinner - Bethany Hamilton: Unstoppable –

Thursday, February 21st at Sebastiani Theatre

Sonoma, CA (February 7, 2019) – On Thursday, February 21st at 7:15pm, Sonoma International Film Festival fans can catch a special documentary film screening of Bethany Hamilton: Unstoppable at the Sebastiani Theatre. Bethany Hamilton lost her arm to a tiger shark at age 13, but this didn't stop her from pursuing her dream of becoming a professional surfer. However, it wasn't only the competition that fueled her desire to stay in the big blue, but her love for the ocean. Not only has she conquered the giant walls but also the journey of being a mother--all with only one arm. She inspires and she never stops; Bethany Hamilton is Unstoppable. Surfing is now the state sport in California.

Doors will open at Theatre at 6:30 PM with a wine reception prior to the film will begin at 7:15 PM. The directors and the executive producer will be in attendance for Q&A after the screening. SIFF is also offering the chance to join the filmmakers for a dinner at Della Santina’s, located on the historic Sonoma Plaza, at 133 East Napa Street. The sit down dinner will begin at 5:30 PM and the number of seats are very limited. Tickets for dinner (all inclusive) and the film: $95, tickets for the film are $20 and are available online at https://tickets.vendini.com/ticket-software.html?t=tix&e=742fb3f614805f2e2fd7cd8b9f43e488&vqitq=964db8cf-6ab5-4e1a-8493-1e28356e8ccc&vqitp=98393b69-9592-4c28-991f-eb988c9f3927&vqitts=1549515364&vqitc=vendini&vqite=itl&vqitrt=Safetynet&vqith=16d74dd82decc09970fb1b3b84e36fc7

SIFF is celebrating 22 years of film, food, wine, and spirits Wednesday, March 27 to Sunday, March 31, 2019. All films are shown at intimate venues within walking distance of Sonoma's historic plaza. Returning this year is the very popular ‘Chefs and Shorts’ Dinner. The dinner will bring highly regarded culinary luminaries together for an extraordinary five-course dinner inspired by short food films from around the world. The best way to guarantee entry to this unique culinary experience is to purchase a Patron Pass. This feature sold-out quickly last year.

“Enjoy an entirely walkable festival in and around historic Sonoma Plaza as you experience the best in indie films while sipping and savoring delicious wines and local culinary treats,” says SIFF Executive Director Kevin McNeely.

The Sonoma International Film Festival over twenty-two years continues to promote independent film and filmmakers from around the world with the support of incredible sponsors who include but are not limited to: Manitou Fund, Diageo, Sonoma Magazine, Wells Fargo, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Arrowood, Bank of Marin, Dolby, Sonoma Market, Sophienwald, Stor-It-All, WildFire Web, Spritz Don Julio, Johnnie Walker Scotch, Ketel One Botanicals, San Francisco Chronicle, Landmark Vineyards, Matanzas Creek, Brew Dr., Huge Bear Wines, Ohm Coffee Roasters, Farm Fresh To You, Rodney Strong, Gloria Ferrer, and Lake Sonoma Winery.
