Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Trailer attacks the web (it's viral and massive)

Worldwide Trailer ''Roadblock'' Debut for Walt Disney Pictures' ''Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End'' to Reach an Unprecedented Global Audience

This global "roadblock" will reach an unprecedented number of worldwide territories, it was announced today by Mark Zoradi, president of the Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group.
The brand-new trailer will debut on Monday, March 19th, during the season premiere of ABC's immensely popular show, "Dancing with the Stars" (8-10PM EST/PST). Immediately following the broadcast debut, the trailer will premiere online in over 30 countries and in 26 languages as part of a synchronized online trailer launch.

Following its domestic and online debut, the international broadcast "roadblock" will introduce the trailer within a 48-hour period around the world, with simulcasts on popular programs and primetime new shows in such countries as the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Korea, and Latin America and Russia. In addition to the broadcast launches, each territory will partner with print and online outlets to maximize exposure.

In the United States, the worldwide trailer debut kicked off early on Sunday, March 18th with a special "Pirates Ultimate Fan Event" in 20 U.S. cities. Fans can win the opportunity to attend this exclusive event at a select theatre in each market by logging on to http://www.disney.com/piratesfanevent. These lucky "ultimate fans" will be the first to see the brand-new trailer and be treated to a screening of the film that started it all: "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl," in addition to winning a host of special prizes from "Pirates" partners.

The trailer will make its online premiere in High Definition at Yahoo! Movies (http://movies.yahoo.com), home of the largest collection of High Definition movie trailers and clips. As the top destination for movie fans, Yahoo! Movies is already hosting a dedicated countdown for the eagerly-awaited trailer, drawing an enthusiast "Pirates" community. Simultaneously, it will launch on the newly re-designed http://Disney.com, and via the "Pirate Viral Player" (http://pirates.movies.com) which can be added to websites, social networking pages and blogs, and will feature a continuous feed of Pirates video content through the film's release.

Walt Disney Pictures/Jerry Bruckheimer Films "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End," opens on May 25th everywhere, and in select international territories beginning May 23rd. Directed by Gore Verbinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, the film reunites stars Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush, Naomie Harris and many more favorite characters, and introduces Chow Yun-Fat as a brand new addition to the Pirates story.

Commenting on the announcement, Zoradi said, "'Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End' is generating a tremendous amount of excitement all over the world, and we are thrilled to be introducing the movie trailer to a global audience of this magnitude through a series of events including this unprecedented worldwide broadcast and online 'roadblock.' We are excited to be able to give fans a first look at this latest film, which promises to answer the questions previously posed in 'Curse of the Black Pearl' and 'Dead Man's Chest.' This is one film you are not going to want to miss."

"Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" picks up where the record-breaking 2006 smash hit left off, with heroes Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) allied with Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) in a desperate quest to free Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) from his mind-bending trap in Davy Jones' locker. With the terrifying ghost ship, The Flying Dutchman, and its commander Davy Jones under the control of the East India Trading Company, there is havoc on the Seven Seas. Navigating through treachery, betrayal and wild waters, the heroic trio must forge their way to exotic Singapore and confront the cunning Pirate Sao Feng (Chow Yun-Fat). Now headed beyond the very ends of the earth, each must ultimately choose a side in a final titanic battle - as not only their lives and fortunes, but the entire future of the freedom-loving Pirate way hangs in the balance. Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Gore Verbinski from a screenplay written by Ted Elliott & Terry Rossio, the beloved cast sets sail again on a fresh new adventure in May 2007.
