The 40th edition of Cine en Construcción will be held online, starting August 23, 2021 as part of Cinema of Tomorrow, the professional section of the 25th Lima Film Festival.

Films in Progress aims to support the completion of rigorously selected Latin American feature films, and to help producers overcome the challenges of post-production and reaching their audiences. With two opportunities each year, a selection of 12 works in process will take place  in two sessions: 6 films in Toulouse in March and 6 films in Lima, in August.

In the midst of the profound transformations that we continue to witness today, the Lima Film Festival PUCP together with Cinélatino, Recontres de Toulouse remain committed with enthusiasm and determination to this appointment with Latin American cinematography and the new perspectives brought by emerging talents. Both share the same values of solidarity and the founding challenges of Films in Progress.

This new session aimed at Peruvian, Latin American and international professionals will start in August 23th. The selection of six films will be decided jointly by the selection committees of Lima and Toulouse.

Since it began in 2002, 39 Films in Progress sessions have been held, in which 221 films have been shown to a regular and loyal audience of film professionals. Among the projects presented, more than half have been selected in different sections of prestigious festivals such as Cannes, Berlin, Venice, San Sebastián, Sundance, Locarno and Rotterdam, among others.
