NYF Advisory Board Recruits Executives from HBO, ESPN, MTVU, Astro Entertainment, The Edge Picture Company, Showtime, and Radio Television Hong Kong.

New York Festivals International Television & Film Awards announced the appointment of its 2010 Advisory Board. This year’s Advisory Board includes a lineup of prominent international media professionals who will help pilot the expansion of the competition’s global footprint.

“The insightful contributions and stellar reputations of the board members will be key in elevating and expanding the reach of NYF’s Television & Film Awards competition, and with their help, we will be able to be much more responsive to issues as they arise in the creative community,” said Rose Anderson, Director of the competition.

This year’s illustrious NYF Television & Film Awards Advisory Board includes: Phil Blundell, Managing Director, The Edge Picture Co. Ltd., UK; Marissa Flores, Senior VP for News & Public Affairs, GMA Network, The Philippines; Abid Hussain, VP Network Creatives, Astro Entertainment, Malaysia; Drew Ianni, President, The Athena Project, USA; Ken Kerschbaumer, Editorial Director, Sports Video Group, USA; Larry Kristiansen, VP Event Production, ESPN, USA; Katherine Meyer, Senior Director, Awards & Film Festivals, Showtime Networks Inc., USA; Suzanne Mueller, Head of Coproductions and Development, ZDF, Germany; Peter Peeters, Creative Director, Norvell Jefferson, Belgium; Joshua Pfenning, Senior Video Producer, Lockheed Martin, USA; Becca Schader, Creative Director, HBO, USA; Steve Schutzman, Manager Online Community, MTVU, USA; Susan L. “It’s an honor to be on the NYF Television & Film Advisory Board. ESPN is always grateful for the opportunity to be involved in the NY Festivals. The Awards’ increasing reach is in no small part due to its diverse portfolio of categories, which dove-tails perfectly with ESPN’s global reach,” said Larry Kristiansen, Advisory Board and VP Event Production, ESPN, 2009’s TV Programmer of the Year.

Phil Blundell, Advisory Board member, Managing Director of The Edge Picture Company, 2009’s Production Company of the Year, remarked: “NYF has always been one of the world’s premier corporate film festivals, so I’m delighted to be able to offer a perspective on what it takes to make a good film and to help the world’s film making community continue to find original new ways of pushing creative boundaries and increasing effectiveness. The power of film is undisputed…anything we can do to make NYF even stronger and to show governments, businesses and organizations around the world that NYF is the world’s best showcase for corporate films is a mission well worth pursuing.”

Led by NYF’s stellar Advisory Board, the 2010 GRANDJURY™ represents the most influential minds in the television and film industry. All entries are screened by NYF’s international judging panels dedicated to rewarding the “World’s Best Work™”.
