Montreal locked down in October: FNC goes virtual

IN-THEATRES SCREENINGS CANCELLED, ONLINE FESTIVAL MAINTAINED

Following the Government of Quebec’s decision to close Montreal’s cinemas and theatres from October 1 to 28, 2020, the FNC team is forced to cancel its physical events initially scheduled at the Imperial Cinema and Place des Festivals from October 7 to 18. The desire to provide an enjoyable and safe experience for festival-goers has guided all the team’s actions and will continue to do so. Rest assured, the 49th edition of the Festival du nouveau cinéma will take place, with almost all the programming available online from October 7 to 31 across Canada. Hoping that our films chosen with passion keep you company all month of October, in the comfort of your living room.

Festival-goers who have already purchased tickets for our screenings at the Imperial Cinema will be contacted shortly. They will be able to choose 1) request a full refund or 2) proceed to an "échange solidaire", a ticket for in-theatres screening will be exchanged for a valid online promotional code for a film or a short film program of their choice.

Note that some in-theatres screenings initially planned at Imperial will not be available online. More details on this will follow on our social networks.

Regarding the Ciné-parc, the sale of tickets is suspended for the moment, a final decision will be announced Thursday at 10am.
