LES CINQ DIABLES THE FIVE DEVILS by French director Léa Mysius will close FNC 51st edition

LES CINQ DIABLES

THE FIVE DEVILS by French director Léa Mysius will close its 51st edition on October 15 at the Cinéma Impérial.

Five years after receiving the FNC Louve d’or for Ava, Léa Mysius reaffirms her protean talent with a strong second feature that dips into fantasy as it rides the twists and turns of the storyline, which Mysius also co-wrote. A luminous tale brought to life by a standout cast carried by Adèle Exarchopoulos and Sally Dramé. New cinema at its best, intelligent and electrifying.

There’s nothing ordinary about Vicky, a solitary, pensive young girl with a preternatural sense of smell and the ability to reproduce and bottle the scent from anything and anyone. She also has an unusually strong attachment to her mother Johanne, a keen swimmer who loves the Rhône Alps lakes. But their bond will be shaken up by the return of Julia, the mysterious aunt who was once persecuted for witchcraft.

In collaboration with Mubi.
