Chair of the South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC), Cheryl Bart today
announced that the Premier of South Australia and Minister for the Arts, the Hon Mike Rann MP has appointed Julie Ryan and Jane Yuile as new Directors of the SAFC Board.

“I am very pleased to welcome Julie and Jane to the Board of the SAFC. They bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience that I’m sure will prove invaluable to the future direction and continued success of the SAFC. Julie’s appointment demonstrates the SAFC’s commitment to the future generation of filmmakers and Jane’s strong financial and accounting background will be an excellent asset,” Ms Bart said.

Having spent the past ten years working at Vertigo Productions with Rolf de Heer as producer of five of his feature films including, The Tracker, Ten Canoes and Dr Plonk, Ryan has recently formed her own production company, Cyan Films with new media producer Kate Croser. They are currently developing their feature film slate and their first project is a co-production with Iranian filmmaker Bahman Ghobadi (Turtles Can Fly).

Yuile is Director of Amik Consulting who provide expertise to boards and executives in finance, risk, strategy and governance. She currently chairs the boards of VICTEC Limited and Jamfactory Contemporary Craft and Design, is a Director of the Electricity Supply Industry Planning Council (SA), IT&e Limited, the Southern Adelaide Health Service, is on the Finance Committee of the University of Adelaide and the Risk Management and Audit Committee of the Department of Health (SA).

Ms Bart said, “While I welcome Julie and Jane, I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank outgoing board members Pamela Martin and Brian Morris who have served the SAFC for 15 years between them. Their contribution and commitment to the SAFC has been tremendous. They will be big shoes to fill, but I am confident that Julie and Jane are more than up to the task and I look forward to working with them”
