LGBTQ+ Icons & Rising Stars Awarded on National Coming Out Day

Jennifer Lopez, Angelica Ross, Carmen Carrera, Isaiah Thomas, and GLAAD’s Sarah Kate Ellis, are among the many influential advocates and artists to appear on Revry’s QueerX Live! awards show brought to you by Lexus on National Coming Out Day, October 11th. This star-studded show will include screenings of the category winners from QueerX’s film festival competition, along with special musical performances by VINCINT and ROB.B, the premiere of the new “Stoli Serves Pride” anthem by chart-topping recording artist Debby Holiday, and a striking performance by the HBO Max Legendary ballroom winners, House of Balmain!  

 

With the theme “Rise Up”, QueerX Live! will also include political statements from social media influencers Blossom Brown and Amber’s Closet to bolster the LGBTQ community during this vital political season, and the presentation of the annual Revry Visibility Awards which honors public figures who have proven to be on the front lines of queer advocacy this year. In addition, the show will also screen on National Coming Out Day at a COVID-safe, drive-in screening event, QueerX @ the Drive-In–a pop-up Drive-In in Downtown Los Angeles benefiting the community-focused non-profit, DTLA Proud. “Revry is excited to honor LGBT History Month by providing incredible content that not only entertains but sparks vital conversations inclusive of all the many important movements relevant to our community today,” says Revry CEO, Damian Pelliccione. “We know that representation saves lives. This festival, along with the premiere of QueerX Live! on National Coming Out Day, will share worldwide stories that inspire and help support our vast queer community.”  

 

The QueerX Live! show will premiere on Revry across 250+ millions households & devices on the Revry apps–available in all major app stores (named "App of the Day" by the Apple App Store)–and on its 11 live TV channels on mainstream platforms (e.g. Samsung TV Plus, The Roku Channel, Comcast, etc.).

 

For the full month of October, the QueerX festival will stream as Revry’s newest live channel–QueerX TV –a free, 24/7 TV channel which will host all of the festival’s “Official Selections” including international LGBTQ+ films, digital series, and music videos. Audiences will have the opportunity to screen all entries and vote, in real time from October 1st-4th, on their category favorites with the winners screened during QueerX Live! on the 11th. The globally streamed QueerX TV channel will also host other exclusive programming for the festival including Revry’s newest POC-driven panel series, Amplify Voices, and its annual Powerhouse Industry Pitchfest presented by Final Draft–giving creators the rare opportunity to pitch projects one-on-one to top industry producers and production companies. 

 

From Oct. 5th-10th, the boundary-pushing queer POC Revry Original panel series, Amplify Voices (promo here)–which explores the intersectionality of black and queer identity through the lens of entertainment, sports, politics, and allyship–will premiere and screen new episodes. Hosted by DJ, Activist, and Entrepreneur Joshua ‘Zeke’ Thomas, the programming will include panels with: openly gay US Ambassadors, James (Wally) Brewster, Rufus Gifford & James Costos; Political strategist / analyst, campaign manager and Fox News contributor Donna Brazile; Iconic creative Director & Talent Developer Laurianne Gibson; NBA Hall of Famer, Isiah Thomas; World Cup Gold Medalist gymnast, Eddie Penev; trans musician, Mila Jam; drag star, Laganja Estranja; and more incredible voices.
