Isabelle Giordano, Paris Fife's Godmother launches the festival with Naked Beauty -Pollen from Disneynature

Isabelle Giordano the godmother of the 28th edition of the International Environmental Film Festival opened the festival at MK2 Bibliothèque to a full crowd of VIP's and environment and industry players.

Jean Paul Huchon introduction speech detailed the Ile de France - region's plans and challenges in the environmental field. Jean François Camilieri the founder of Disneynature opening film Naked Beauty Pollen introduced the  movie.
The 28th edition of the International Environmental Film Festival runs from November 24 to 30, 2010.

After Danielle Mitterrand, Titouan Lamazou, and Nicolas Vanier, Isabelle Giordano is the godmother of the 28th International Environmental Film Festival.

After graduating from Sciences Po in 1986, Isabelle Giordano began her career as a TV journalist on France 3, working on the Histoire d'un jour television show with Philippe Alfonsi. Also for France Television, she collaborated on the initial version of Bouillon de culture with Bernard Pivot. In 1991, television viewers discovered her on Michel Denisot's program Demain, whose team she joined as a literary chronicler. 1991 was also the year she began her great adventure, Journal du cinema, on Canal+, a show she presented for ten years. She then decided to return to France 3, the station she began with, to host Le Fabuleux Destin de...

She is not a stranger to radio either...while working on Le Journal du cinéma, Isabelle Giordano felt the need to widen her horizons. She enthusiastically hosted a literary segment for the show Planète livre on France Inter radio; then from 1996 to 1997, a daily lifestyle magazine on Europe 1, Le journal des spectacles.  In 2001, she participated as one of the voices of the king's court in Stéphane Bern's Fou du Roi on France Inter. Later, she created her own show for teenagers, Le Monde Selon Wam (awarded a Laurier du Sénat prize) before beginning a new program in 2006, Service Public, a socially-conscious and committed show.

She also tried her hand at writing, publishing Martine, Portrait Intime in May 2002, a portrait of the politician Martine Aubry. Then in 2004, Elle s'appelait Romy, about the actress Romy Schneider, Les Bonnes Choses de la vie ("Good Things in Life") in 2006, and Passionnément in 2009 about mythical cinema couples.

Isabelle Giordano hosts the weekly television show Giordano Hebdo, broadcast on Arte television, where every week she welcomes a high profile person from various horizons: cinema, literature, or even finance.

OPENING MOVIE. Naked Beauty - Pollen

A love story between animal (bees, butterflies, birds....) and plant that feeds the Earth.

Superb, rich, scientific and visually stunning (shot mostly at 1000 frames per second, without additionnal visual special effects). A treat, and probably a great word of mouth  to serve the environmental cause.

Our life on earth depends on a remarkable love story between flowers and the bees, butterflies, bats and birds that allow them to reproduce.
The beauty and delicacy of flowers are not simply attributes for their own sake: their bright colours and exotic scents are strategic. For they attract pollinators and fill them with desire. These species take part in a complex dance of seduction on which depends a third of our harvests, and without which we could not survive.
Pollen presents these unknown heroes of the global food chain. Their world is fantastic, full of stories, drama and beauty. But they are increasingly under threat. If they become extinct, so could we.
