The eighth Roma Independent Film Festival, March 19th – 27th, will present numerous European and world premiers!

This year’s calendar is filled with feature length films, documentaries and shorts arriving from all over the world. Special attention is given to the Italian and International First Works.

Our International Jury includes the actresses Valentina Cervi and Sabrina Impacciatore, producer, Umberto Massa, journalist, Ahmad Rafat, and Paul Zonderland, General Director of Walt Disney Studio Motion Pictures, Italy.

Feature films in competition for the RIFF Awards 2009, include, Marco Carniti’s “Sleeping Around” with Anna Galiena, “Tutto intorno a Linda,” directed by Barbara and Monica Sgambellone, Claudio Giovannesi’s “La casa sulle nuvole” with Adriano Giannini and Michael Margotta’s “Miss Julie”.

Italian short films to note: Daniele Anzellotti’s “Lotta” with Giovanna Mezzogiorno, Filippo Nigro, Paolo Briguglia and Rocco Papaleo and “Primo Mare,” directed by Luigi Muccino and Antonella Cappuccio, the parents of the Muccino brothers.

During the course of the festival, informative workshops and seminars are offered on various aspects of cinema production, including a European FORUM of independent producers, associated with Producer on the Move
