Fourteen movies will screen in the 1st Latin American Film Festival on-line: iber.film.america
● Organized by Filmotech.com, the Festival offers for free fourteen Latin-American and Spanish productions through www.iberfilmamerica.com from March 27th to April 16th.
● The Latin-American and Spanish Internet communities will give the Audience Award through the official Facebook application.
● iber.film.america has been created with the vision of presenting and displaying audiovisual content through new distribution channels
Last Tuesday the 27th of March the first on-line Latin American Film Festival iber film America started. The pioneering creators filmotech.com have the support of the ICAA (Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts of Spain), FIPCA (American Federation of Film Producers and Audiovisual) and the Instituto Cervantes.
Until April 16th iber.film.america offers for free and with on-line viewing (via www.iberfilmamerica.com) fourteen current movies produced in the Latin American territory between 2009 and 2011.
Visitors entering through the Festival website can enjoy online and for free, these selected movies: Boleto al paraíso (Ticket to Paradise) -Cuba, Spain, Venezuela-, a film by Gerardo Valdés Chijona; Contracorriente (Undertow) –Peru, Colombia, France, Germany-, by Javier Fuentes León; Des-autorizado (Des-authorized) –Venezuela-, by Elia Schneider; Garcia -Colombia-, Jose Luis Rugeles; Guest –Spain-, by Jose Luis Guerin; Jean Gentil –Dominican Republic, Mexico, Germany-, by Laura Amelia Guzmán and Israel Cárdenas; Los colores de la montaña (The colors of the mountain) -Colombia, Panama-, by Carlos Cesar Arbelaez; La mala verdad (The bad truth) –Argentina, Spain-, by Miguel Angel Rocca; La mitad de Óscar (Half of Oscar) -Spain, Cuba-, by Manuel Martin Cuenca; La Yuma –France, Spain, Mexico, Nicaragua-, by Florence Jauguey; Medianeras (Dividing) -Spain, Argentina, Germany-, by Gustavo Taretto; Norberto apenas tarde (Norberto little later) -Uruguay, Argentina-, by Daniel Hendler; Pescador (Fisherman) -Ecuador, Colombia-, by Sebastián Cordero and Transeunte (Transient) -Brazil-; directed by Eryck Rocha.
During three weeks, only the users who are in the Latin-American area and in Spain can access to watch the films in competition (up to a maximum of 10,000 viewings by title). Titles that have participated and / or have been awarded in many festivals such as San Sebastian Film Festival, Venice and Sundance. All these movies will compete for the Critic Award and the Audience Award.
A jury of five specialized journalists and film critics from both continents will deliver the Critic Award, worth $ 3,000 for the producer of the film and a trip to the EGEDA Audiovisual Forum which will be held in Panama between April 24th and April 26th.
Meanwhile, viewers can assess the participating films in the Competition through the voting system that offers the exclusive Facebook application created for the Festival. The most voted film by viewers will be the winner of the Audience Award. Among all viewers who participate in the selection of Audience Award can win a trip to Los Angeles to enjoy the XVIII Recent Spanish Cinema and ten “Annual Free Suscription” for the Spanish website filmotech.com where you can watch on-line a great number of Spanish films.
iber.film.america has been created with the vision of bringing and showing Spanish films through new distribution channels, for free and lawful, providing access to the cinema among the Latin American community.
