Martin Scorsese Masterclass in Cannes

Fipresci Grand Prix Award to 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days

4 Luni, 3 Saptamini si 2 Zile (4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days), by Cristian Mungiu, winner of the Fipresci Prize and Golden Palm at Cannes 2007, has been elected Best Film of the Year at the Fipresci Grand Prix votation. 248 members of the International Federation of Film Critics participated in the election, clearly carried away by the Rumanian film. The Fipresci Grand Prix will be presented at the San Sebastian Film Festival opening gala on 20th September.

The Fipresci Grand Prix for Best Film of the Year, presented since 1999 at the San Sebastian Film Festival, and created to highlight the most daring, original and personal cinema, has formerly gone to some of the most groundbreaking moviemakers of the moment, such as Pedro Almodóvar, Kim Ki-Duk or Jean-Luc Godard.
4 Luni, 3 Saptamini si 2 Zile (4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days) will open the Zabaltegi-Pearls section on September 20th and will compete for the TCM Audience Award.
