FESTIVAL OF GERMAN CINEMA IN CHINA BACK FOR SEVENTH EDITION
|
|
The seventh edition of the Festival of German Cinema will take place in Beijing from 15 to 24 November, 2019. 16 new German films will be shown, with a strong documentary line-up consisting of four films. Taken overall, this year's program will again be offering the Chinese audiences an exciting selection of current German filmmaking.
The festival will open with SYSTEM CRASHER by Nora Fingscheidt at the Broadway Cinematheque MOMA. Wang Jingchung (Silver Bear 2019 for Best Actor), one of China's most popular actors, will be present as the Festival Ambassador. After the opening film, there will be a panel with jury members Sha Dan (film historian, film critic) and Yang Yang (festival curator).
An additional panel is taking place on 16 November with the architect and professor Cao Xiaoxin and German Films' managing director Simone Baumann after the documentary film BAUHAUS SPIRIT. And Q&As will occur on 17 November with the filmmaker and jury member Qiu Sheng after I WAS AT HOME, BUT..., as well as with Zhang Xianmin (lecturer at the Beijing Film Academy; jury member) after HEIMAT IS A SPACE IN TIME.
On 17 November, the Goethe Institut will be organizing a program entitled "Klang sichten". The film music event - with a workshop and concert afterwards by the musicians Ulrike Haage and Christian Meyer - will give the Chinese participants an opportunity to engage intensively with the artists and the music
