Edith Grant joins The Cinema & Literature International Forum of Monte Carlo

The Cinema & Literature International Forum of Monte Carlo
Names Edith Grant Executive Director of the MIAL & RFM Markets

Under the High Patronage of H.S.H Prince Albert II, The Cinema & Literature International Forum of Monte Carlo will celebrate its fifth anniversary, from April 7 to 9, 2006.

The Forum uniquely links literature and comics to cinema and television by organizing discussion panels, master-classes, book-readings and film previews. In 2006, as in the past editions, it will bring together the most famous authors, screenwriters, directors, and actors as well as publishers, literary agents and producers from around the world to celebrate and facilitate cinema and television literary adaptations.

Launched in 2002, The International Literary Adaptation Market (MIAL) is the first of its kind. It is now considered by professionals as an event not to be missed.

In 2006, the Cinema & Literature International Forum of Monte Carlo will launch a market unique in the world: the Remake Film Market (RFM).

To mark the growing success of the MIAL and on the occasion of the first edition of the RFM, the Forum hands the responsibility of the two markets to Edith Grant, naming her to the new post of Executive Director. For the last eight years, she was the US representative for the Cannes Market, the business division of the Festival de Cannes. Ms. Grant also was a consultant for the MIAL, worked for IFP Market in New York and numerous US, Asian and European producers. In the 80’s and early 90’s, she headed the European art film division of the Japan based Saison Group.

« I have always admired the energy and the initiatives of the Monte Carlo Forum founders and team. I am eager to develop our relationship and expand these two exceptional markets », says Edith Grant.

« We are happy and proud to welcome Edith Grant as the Executive Director of the Forum’s Markets », comment Claire Breuvart, President, and Hans-Stephan Kreidel, General Director. « Her international experience and her excellent knowledge of the entertainment industry will enable us to develop the huge potential of our two markets, the International Literary Adaptation Market and the Remake Film Market ».
