Discover the Anti-Corporate Film Festival in San Francisco

Tipping Man 6, the sixth International Anti-Corporate Film Festival, will run from May 19-21 this year at the Victoria Theatre in San Francisco, California.

The Tipping Man Festival is a three-day series of film screenings, post-screening discussions with directors and activists, and related events. The films are primarily feature-length U.S. and foreign-made documentaries, but also include narrative (fictional) films, short films, and animated and experimental works. All of the films include some theme, reference to, or commentary on corporations.

The Festival was launched in 2006 by CounterCorp, an all-volunteer non-profit organization based in San Francisco, and takes its name from the group’s iconic logo, which depicts a crowd pulling down a statue of a corporate executive [see attached press release]. In addition to organizing the Anti-Corporate Film Festival, CounterCorp presents film screenings throughout the year, and publishes the Corporation Watch blog.

“By ‘anti-corporate’ films, we don't just mean independent, non-Hollywood ones”, said John Wilner, the group’s founding director. “The Tipping Man Festival features films that examine or reflect the roles that corporations play in our daily lives, and the ongoing and long-term effects they have on people, communities, and cultures around the world -- and the planet itself”.

The goal of the Festival is to raise public and media awareness about how corporations actually operate, promote critical thought and analysis of the effect of those operations on the rest of society, and encourage informed discussion and debate about what corporations really add to -- and subtract from -- humanity's “bottom line”.

The program for this year’s Festival, including descriptions and trailers of the films, will be announced in early May. Previous Festivals have featured Blue Gold, The Coca-Cola Case, The Corporation, The Future of Food, GasHole, The Method (El Metodo), Orgasm Inc, Severance, Visioneers (starring Zach Galifiniakis), and The World According to Monsanto, among other films.

Media interviews are available. For more information on the Tipping Man Anti-Corporate Film Festival or CounterCorp, visit, or email, or call (415) 568-5739.
