David Lynch’s MULHOLLAND DRIVE closes Film Noir au Canal’s 4th edition!

To close its successful 4th edition, Film Noir au Canal is proud to present the enigmatic Mulholland Drive (2001) by famed American director David Lynch. Starring Naomi Watts, Laura Harring, Justin Theroux and Ann Miller, the great neo-noir of the 21st century will be screened on Sunday, August 19.

Starting at 7 p.m., cinephiles are invited to visit the Square Saint-Patrick’s urban setting for this final act of the season. This will be an opportunity for the public to discover the terrific trombonist Modibo Keita, who will set the tone for the evening. At nightfall, three partners in crime will present the film: critics Manon Dumais and Martin Bilodeau, with film noir specialist Will Straw.

At 8:20 p.m., Mulholland Drive will be presented in English, with French subtitles. Don’t forget your chairs and blankets! Admission is free; any voluntary contribution will be gladly accepted.

Film Noir au Canal 2018

This year, six free outdoor screenings will take place every Sunday from July 15 to August 19 in a crime film worthy location at Square Saint-Patrick, on the south bank of the Canal, at the corner of Wellington and Saint-Patrick streets. These screenings, which bring together more than 2,000 film lovers each summer since 2015, start at dusk and are preceded by live music performances and presentations by aficionados of the genre.

Film Noir au Canal is presented thanks to financial support from W. Maxwell Agendas, the Sud-Ouest borough, the Conseil des arts de Montréal, and the Caisse Desjardins du Sud-Ouest de Montréal.

The 4th edition of Film Noir au Canal runs until August 19, 2018
