Ukrainian Ambassador in Washington Oksana Markarova meets film director Pritan Ambroase
Ukraine's Ambassador to the United States, her Excellency Oksana Markarova (left) has met Pritan Ambroase (right), Film Director of ‘Can I Go Home Now?’ Focusing on Suffering of Ukrainian Children affected by Invasion CAN I GO HOME NOW? Director's statement Washington D.C. In a meeting held at the Embassy of Ukraine, the Ambassador of Ukraine, Her Excellency Oksana Markarova has met Pritan Ambroase, the Filmmaker and Founder of Philanthropic organisation Humans of Our World Foundation, to discuss Ambroase-directed film ‘Can I Go Home Now?’ and its efforts to support children who have been impacted by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine by bringing their heartbreaking stories to the whole world. Alongside the film, the humanitarian organisation Humans of Our World Foundation has launched a campaign called “We Are Family” to raise funds and provide aid to children in need in Ukraine. With the ongoing conflict, many children have been left without access to basic necessities like food, shelter, and medical care. The association will fill this gap by providing critical support and resources to these children. A film documentary CAN I GO HOME, NOW ? produced and directed by Pritan Ambroase is also recording statements of Ukrainian children who have suffered extensively. The film bears witness to their experiences, fears and hopes and is a lesson in courage about the impact of conflict on innocent people and a testament to human resilience. Pritan Ambroase provided Her Excellency Ambassador Oksana Markarova with an update on both his film and humanitarian work and shared some of the challenges that they have encountered in their efforts to support children in the region. They also discussed some of the new initiatives that they are exploring in order to expand their reach and impact to help Ukraine. During the meeting, Ambassador Oksana Markarova expressed her appreciation for the work that Humans of Our World Foundation and The Hollywood Insider are doing since the first day of the invasion on Feb 24, 2022, in terms of the film, his support through media and the humanitarian activities. From this constructive first meeting, before returning to Kyiv, Pritan Ambroase has declared: "I would like to thank Her Excellency the Ambassador Oksana Markarova of Ukraine, for inviting me to the embassy to discuss our film 'Can I Go Home Now?' I had the pleasure of showing some clips of the film and the poster to the Ambassador and her team. We hope to bring the story of the Children in Ukraine and the inhumane atrocities they have faced in the past year, to the whole world. The ongoing war continues to claim lives and destroy the lives of millions of people in Ukraine. President Zelenskyy and the people of Ukraine have my full support and I will do everything in my power to bring this film to the world. My heart breaks for all the Children suffering due to this man-made war. Most of the world has no idea how the word cruel is not sufficient to describe what the terrorists are doing to the people of Ukraine." Production company Cinessaince Motion Pictures, The Hollywood Insider, Humans of Our World Foundation, Perspectiva Film and Studio 32 will deliver CAN I GO HOME NOW? by the late spring 2023 in order to world premiere this late summer, before being shown all around the world. 20.04.2023 | Editor's blog Cat. : PEOPLE
