A colorful opening for the Brussels Festival !

BRUSSELS EUROPEAN FILM FESTIVAL & CINEDECOUVERTES 2008

The 6th edition of the Brussels European Film Festival successfully opened in a good mood this Saturday 28 June. In front of a fully packed room, Hany Tamba and his actrice Pierrette Katrib presented their franco-lebanese film UNE CHANSON DANS LA TETE (Melodrama Habibi) in world premiere.

The director of the festival & producer Dominique Janne - The coordinator of the festival Michel de Schaetzen The crew of the film Une chanson dans la tête on the stage.

The jury members and guests put the conviviality of Brussels under a test. As explained by Olivier Zobrist, producer of the film The Friend, « It's because I heard many good things about the festival » that inspired him to submit the film. It's certain, they will return !

They are already called the six happy inseparable fellows. The official jury members are: the director Bruno Merle (France), the director Aneta Lesnikovska (Macedonia), the art director Peter Wenham (Great Britain), the actrice Marie Vinck (Belgium), the actor Rudi Rosenberg (France) and the director Matthieu Donck (Belgium).

All weekend, the sun was shining on the festival terrace, giving the festival crowd a chance to sip a drink and enjoy music performances, between a couple of films of course !

Everyday from 18h, aperitif-concerts livened up the festival terrace. The guests also made the most of these magical moments, between films, music and relaxation.

The festival-goers have found it hard to divide themselves between screenings and parties. It is necessary to say that the Festival has repeated its famous free open-air screenings. Every night from 22h, the giant screen is constructed on the square, giving the chance to (re)discover some of the pearls of European cinema. Fans of soccer or not, the audience met to enjoy the sport. On Sunday, whether being supporters of Spain or Germany, the festival crowd savoured the French film by Julie Delpy, 2 days in Paris.

The opening night, a must attend party place ... until the early hours ! Be reassured, it continues every night...

The Festival continues until Sunday the 6th included. Visit http://www.fffb.be/ for all the details !
