The news in French I English This content and related intellectual property cannot be reproduced without prior consent. ![]() 1st Jaipur International Animation Film Festival-JIAFF-2011 will start tomorrowThe first "JAIPUR INTERNATIONAL ANIMATION FILM FESTIVA-JIAFF-2011" presented by PICASSO ANIMATION COLLEGE, Jaipur will start tomorrow at EP Emerald (Entertainment Paradise) Cinema Hall at 10 A.M. Noted film actress Ms. Kamini Kaushal, will inaugurate the festival. She has performed in famous films such as, Neecha Nagar (1946), Nadiya Ke Paar (1949), Paaras (1949), Shabnam (1949), Aarzoo (1950), Shaheed (1948), Meri Bhabhi (1969), Do Raste (1969), & Roti Kapda Aur Makan (1974). She is most noted for her roles in films like Neecha Nagar (1946) which won the 1946 Palme d'Or (Golden Palm) at 1st Cannes Film Festival and Biraj Bahu (1955) which won her the Filmfare Best Actress Award in 1955. Famous film maker Mr. Govind Nihalani, Mr. Nishit Takia (Producer), Mr. Ranjit Singh (Secretary, The Animation Society of India), Mr. Vaibhav Kimaresh (Animation Filmmaker) & Mr. G.L. Bharadwaj (Filmmaker), will be present at the inauguration ceremony. Mr. Kireet Khurana (Filmmaker) & Mr. Supran Sen (Secretary General, Film Federation of India) will reach Jaipur on the second day of JIAFF to attend the festival. 4 Indian films, 4 foreign films, & 2 films from Rajasthan are selected to be screened during the inauguration ceremony at the Emerald EP (Entertainment Paradise). Thereafter at 12.30 PM, the festival will be organized at Film Bhawan Auditorium. Mr. Govind Nihalani & Mr. Nishit Takia will give a presentation on their upcoming films "Kamlu" & "Dehli Safari" respectively at 1 PM. They will also interact with the viewers as well. A seminar on animation film production & its technique, 2D, 3D, stop motion & VFX is also being organized on the first day of the festival. This seminar will be addressed by Mr. Vaibhav Kumaresh & Mr. Ranjit Singh. Jaipur Beats Musical Night will be organized at JDA Garden Theatre from 6.30 PM. The artists of Jaipur Beats will present various performances at the musical night. "Jaipur Beats" are the Runner up team of "India's Got Talent Khoj -2". Kayam Ali (Tabla), Farukh Khan (Sarangi), Arrif Khan (Sitar), will give various presentations at the Mega Jaipur Beats Musical Night. Zakir (Pad), Sajid Khan (Drum), Annis Khan (Keyboard), Sikander Khan (Vocals), & Kish Bhorodia (Guitar) will be playing along with them. There will be live performances of the songs from the Rajasthani film "Bhobhar". In its opening year, JIAFF received an overwhelming response till last date with over 229 animation films from 21 countries (including India, Russia, Canada, U.K., Australia, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland etc.) across the globe. Out of the films received by JIAFF 58 films (including: 24 foreign films, 13 Indian films and 7 films from Rajasthan) have been selected/nominated for the screening in JIAFF 2011. Some of the films being screened at JIAFF are, 10 films of Animation Society of India, one film each of Ms. Kamini Kaushal (Registaan Ka Jahaz) & Mr. Rammohan (The White Elephant), noted filmmaker Mr. Govind Nihlani's film "Kamlu" which is based on Rajasthan and Mr. Nishit Takia's film "Dehli Safari". Today JIAFF declared the names of all these films enlisted. JIAFF is being organized on 12 & 13 October, 2011 in Jaipur, India As mentioned above, JIAFF has received 34 films from Rajasthan. Following are the names of the films selected from Rajasthan: "Darna Jaruri Hai", "Out of Order", "The Unexpected", "Masha", "L.O.C", "An.i.mator : What To Do After 10+2" & "Trees The Reason for Life". List of selected film is enclosed. The same is available at http://www.jaffindia.org/. On 13Th October, there will be a workshop on Lighting & Cinematography from 8 AM to 10 AM at Film Bhawan Auditorium. Mr. Kireet Khurana, Mr. Vaibhav Kumaresh & Mr. Ranjit Singh will take the workshop. The film screening of films will commence thereafter. There will be a group discussion on identity of Indian animation industry & its progress, after lunch. We will also be discussing on job possibilities in animation film industry & production management. "Registaan ka Jahaz" by Ms. Kamini Kaushal & "The White Elephant" by Mr. Ram Mohan will be screened on 12Th October from 5 PM onwards. The award ceremony will commence 6.30 PM onwards on 13Th October. Ten awards in various categories will be presented to the films selected from competition category. In the first edition of JIAFF, 10 awards will be presented i.e. Best Animation, Best Animated Film, Best 2D, Best 3D, Best VFX, Best Sound Track, Best Modeling & Texture, Best Lighting & Compositing, Best Student Film & Best Critic Film. The first "LIFE TIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD" of 1st Jaipur International Animation Film Festival will be presented to Mr. Ram Mohan, who is well known as "Father of Indian Animation". He will be present to collect the award. Mr. Ram Mohan has produced around 100 animation films, such as "Homo Saps", "Chaos" & famous television series "Meena". He was the assistant director of the first animation feature film from India "Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama". Information & Broadcasting Ministry, Govt. of India, stated that Animation Industry has great scope in the future. After I.T. industry, animation film industry is the only field which is having major professional possibilities. That's why; CBSE has announced that they will add animation to their course for class 11Th & 12Th. Rajasthan Lalit Kala Academy will also add animation to the course for their students of painting. Hence, we can say that animation industry is having a bright future in India.
