IN-PERSON SCREENINGS Attendees of Santa Monica Film Festival 2023 can experience an exciting collection of high quality indie films followed by moderated discussions with filmmakers and the audience from (12P to 9P) at AMC 4 Theater (1441 Third Street Promenade, Santa Monica CA). CLOSING FILM – WEST COAST PREMIERE ‘Punk Rock Vegan Movie,’ a new documentary written and directed by Moby, will have its west coast premiere and be the Closing film for the 2023 Santa Monica Film Festival on January 22 in Santa Monica, CA with Q&A moderated by KCRW’s Anthony Valadez. The film, which is Moby’s directorial debut, is a passionate and stylistically idiosyncratic look at the ongoing relationship between the worlds of punk rock and animal rights. It includes interviews with some of the biggest names in punk and rock history, like Ian Mackaye, HR, Dave Navarro, Ray Cappo, Andrew Hurley, Tony Kanal, Tim McIlrath, Water Schreifels, Dave Dictor, Derrick Green, Steve Ignorant, Theo Kogan, Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein, Amy Lee, and Captain Sensible.
