Scrappy to play 21st Festival La Fila de Cortometrajes in Valladolid!"Scrappy" has been selected to play the 21st Festival La Fila de Cortometrajes, taking place May 8-11, 2017, in Valladolid, Spain. Festival director Isabel Blanco wrote that the film was chosen because of its "high educational value in turbulent times". Based on the Studs Terkel Humanities Award-winning poem by Donald G. Westlake, "Scrappy" was adapted for the screen and helmed by his daughter, Dawn Westlake. Pol Carrizo Vilarroig shot the film on location in Pine Mountain, CA, USA on the Canon C300, provided by Canon USA, Inc. to Westlake's Ron de Cana Productions. "Scrappy" stars GrissyG, Dismas, Bruce Rheins, and introduces 5-yr-old actress Nefertina Lizarraga and her dog Kong in the starring roles. The film was scored by GC Johnson of Acoustic Labs.
