Quentin Tarantino and Sony Pictures’ Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood will receive the Best Ensemble Cast Award in Capri

Quentin Tarantino and Sony Pictures’ Once Upon a Time…in  Hollywood  will receive the Best Ensemble Cast Award at the 24th edition of Capri Hollywood - The International Film Festival.  The annual cinematic event, which takes place here between December 27 and January 2, has become an important stop for films on the road to year-end awards and accolades.

''Leonardo Di Caprio, Brad Pitt and  Margot Robbie are the leading members of an outstanding cast that also includes Emile Hirsch, Margaret Qualley, Timothy Olyphant, Austin Butler, Dakota Fanning, Bruce Dern, Lorenza Izzo and Al Pacino. Combined, these amazing performers populate the captivating scenario of 1969 Los Angeles, arousing the enthusiasm of audiences from all around the world,'' said the Festival’s honorary President Tony Renis on behalf of the board of directors in announcing the award.

Written and directed by Tarantino, Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood is on its way to becoming a leading contender for awards consideration from many internationally recognized organizations including the Golden Globes® and the Oscars®. Of its $371.8 million worldwide gross, $13.2 million was earned in Italy, where the Sony Pictures film is still in theatres.

Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood visits 1969 Los Angeles, where everything is changing, as TV star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) make their way around an industry they hardly recognize anymore. The ninth film from the writer-director features a large ensemble cast and multiple storylines in a tribute to the final moments of Hollywood’s golden age. Written and Directed by Quentin Tarantino. Produced by David Heyman, Shannon McIntosh and Quentin Tarantino. Georgia Kacandes, YU Dong and Jeffrey Chan serve as executive producers. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Al Pacino.

This year’s edition of Capri, Hollywood will be dedicated to the Italian filmmaker Gillo Pontecorvo on the 100th anniversary of his birth. The Festival has previously announced two awards – Steven Zaillian for his Best Adapted Screenplay of Martin Scorsese’s “The Irishman” and Marco Bellocchio’s “The Traitor,” which has been named the Best International Feature Film of the Year Award as it competes as Italy’s entry for Best International Feature Film at the 2020 Oscars and  begins its run for the European Film Awards in several main categories.

Capri Hollywood - The International Film Festival is presented by the Capri in the World Institute, with the support of Mibact-Dg Cinema and Italy’s Campania Region in collaboration with numerous private sponsors.
