Nadine de Barros, CEO of Fortitude International, a foreign sales, finance and production entity based in Los Angeles, announced today that writer/director Dennis Dugan is attached to direct LOVE & OTHER DISASTERS.

It's the first independent feature for studio director Dugan whose box office hits include; Happy Gilmore, Just Go With It, Big Daddy, and Grown Ups 1&2. "I'm excited to get to work on this funny, romantic movie with Nadine, who has been a fierce advocate for it since the beginning.” says Dugan, whose lifetime box office has surpassed the 1.5 billion dollar mark.

Fully financed, LOVE & OTHER DISASTERS is being cast by Eyde Belasco, C.S.A. (TRANSPARENT; 500 DAYS OF SUMMER) and filming will begin Fall’19.

Ensemble-cast comedy, LOVE & OTHER DISASTERS is a female-driven, multi-story romantic comedy about the people who work on weddings to create the perfect day for the loving couple - while their own relationships are outlandish, odd, crazy and far, far from perfect.

An original screenplay by Dugan, co-written with Larry Miller and Eileen Conn, LOVE & OTHER DISASTERS is produced by Rob Paris via his Paris Film, Inc. banner, (A24’s THE BLACKCOAT’S DAUGHTER, Netflix’ I AM THE PRETTY THING THAT LIVES IN THE HOUSE); and Nadine de Barros of Fortitude (J.T. LEROY, ECHOBOOMERS) with Gül Karakiz Bildik (Netflix’ THE LAST LAUGH) as executive producer.

Fortitude will introduce LOVE & OTHER DISASTERS to buyers at the upcoming Cannes market, May 14-23, 2019.
