The Better World Fund returns to Cannes with a Mastermind and a Gala awarding Sharon Stone May 22-23

The Better World Fund Presents

“Food, Health & Sustainability”

During the Cannes Film Festival

Paris, France - The Better World Fund, the Paris-based non-profit organization raising awareness on critical global issues, presents Food, Health & Sustainability—a series of prestigious events. The event will be bestowed with the gracious participation of S.E Madame Dominique Ouattara, First Lady of Cote d’Ivoire, HRH Princess Ghida Talal, as well as internationally recognized actress, producer, humanitarian, and New York Times bestselling author of The Beauty of Living Twice, Sharon Stone and Kiera Chaplin at Cannes, France on May 22-23, 2022.

In line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the two-day event aims to raise awareness on the immediate need to change our agricultural and eating practices to take better care of our health, and our planet by uniting filmmakers, writers, scientists, environmentalists, activists and business leaders to explore and provide tangible efforts to address the environment, biodiversity, and climate challenges. The 2-day itinerary is as follows:

22 May 10.30am to 12.30pm - Marriott Hotel - Better World Fund’s Mastermind Conference with inspiring global speakers to discuss the relationship between food, health and sustainability followed by a hosted networking event for attendees. Speakers at the Mastermind will include Fabrice Kerherve, Thomas Uhl, Amruta Fadnavis, Ohene Kwame Frimpong, Bernard Le Grelle, Ilana Devillers, Maud Truchi, Malika Rose Diawara, and Bruno Houn.

22 May – 7.30pm - Marriott Hotel - Cocktail VIP Reception - 8.30pm Gala Dinner Auction.

With Cannes setting sun, stars appear above the famed Croisette illuminating the Better World Fund’s illustrious Black-Tie Gala dinner at the JW Marriott Cannes, featuring the exciting Live Auction, chaired by Sharon Stone to benefit the Virtuosa Foundation’s for a current project to expand and improve the Children’s Memorial Health Institute in Warsaw, Poland. The renovated hospital will accommodate the enormous increase in patients, many of whom are refugee children from Ukraine.

23 May - 12.30pm - 314 Beach Three talented chefs from the organizations La Pensée Sauvage founded by Thomas Uhl which offers healthy detoxes and wellness experiences will prepare a delicious entirely plant-based three course lunch, sourcing local and fresh seasonal products. This lunch, also organized in partnership with Chefs4thePlanet, an international community of chefs promoting sustainable gastronomy co-founded by Sebastien Ripari and Anne Le More, will be the opportunity to discuss further with the speakers and chefs present the critical importance of food and gastronomy for our health and the planet.

“The supply issues arising from the pandemic, and the more recent tragic developments in Europe, have emphasized the need to reorganize our agricultural practices and global value chains to ensure food security for all,” said Manuel Collas de la Roche, President and Founder of Better World Fund.

“There is an excess of talk about climate change and biodiversity loss, but the time is now to put the spotlight on more specific actionable issues. Food waste, the degradation of our land and food systems, the carbon footprint and tremendous impact of food on our health are slow poisons that can ruin generations. It is time to act now, together and fast,” he added.

Sponsors for the extraordinary two-day events include

314 Cannes, La Pensée Sauvage, Ivoire Cartes Systèmes, Art Daoudi, Phyco Mania, Salt Media GF, SaineLife, F4A, Maslina, Elke Berr, REVISCIENCE LABS France, Golden Galapagos Cruise, Squair, Baron Monte Carlo, Monte Carlo Gourmet, Escape Seeker, Clinique La Prairie, FARHYA Monaco, Kamelion, Chefs4thePlanet, 3H Impulse, Planet Katapult, SDB New Delhi, Luxury Magazine, Filmfestivals.com, TRIBO, Chic Icon, the University and Foundation Paris-Saclay, OCF and Floresta.
