Rebel Road Launches New Distribution Arm at CannesBrian Presley’s Rebel Road Entertainment has launched their new distribution arm at Cannes. The first title to be released will be THE GREAT ALASKAN RACE this fall in the U.S.; there’s also two new exec hires listed below, and stills attached for the film. ‘The Great Alaskan Race’ is first film to be released nationwide in Fall of 2019
Veteran film industry producer, actor and writer/director Brian Presley and his Rebel Road Entertainment banner has launched a new distribution arm, it was announced today at Cannes. Rebel Road Entertainment will aim to distribute films that will bring the faith-based and secular worlds together through socially impactful stories of inspiration and truth. Focusing on stories that appeal to a wide-spread family audience, the company will release films theatrically on 20 to 2000 screens. Presley and his acquisitions team are on-the-ground in Cannes looking for potential titles for their pipeline.
Joining Presley at Rebel Road will be Timothy Patrick Cavanaugh as President of Production & Acquisition, Tai Truesdell as Head of International Sales, and Elizabeth Bell as General Counsel/ Business Development. The first project to be released under the new banner will be THE GREAT ALASKAN RACE, which Presley wrote, starred in, directed, and produced. The film also stars Treat Williams, Bruce Davison, Brad Leland, Brea Bee, and Henry Thomas, and is scheduled to be released nationwide by Rebel Road in the fall of 2019. The film is based on the true story of a group of brave mushers that must travel 700 miles to save the small children of Nome, Alaska from a deadly epidemic.
“The Great Alaskan Race is the amazing, untold true story that took place in 1925 when 20 dog mushers rode through eighty below zero temperatures to save the children of Nome, Alaska. I am honored to be the first to bring this great story to the big screen. Togo and Balto are hugely popular but most don’t know the true story behind the two famous sled dogs. Dog lovers will absolutely love this film and this is a film for all ages,” said Presley.
Presley is an experienced producer, actor, writer, and director who, after finding success as an actor, first produced TOUCHBACK, with Kurt Russell and Melanie Lynsey, and ONCE FALLEN with Ed Harris, Amy Madigan, Taraji Henson, Alison Eastwood, Peter Greene and Peter Weller. Presley also starred in HOME OF THE BRAVE for MGM with Samuel L. Jackson, Jessica Biel, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Ricci and Curtis “50-Cent” Jackson. He has also starred in BORDERLAND for Lions Gate Films alongside Sean Astin. He has managed and shadowed many award-winning directors such as Irwin Winkler, producer of GOOD FELLAS and RAGING BULL.
