Myriad Pictures announce the acquisition of RIDE THE EAGLE

“RIDE THE EAGLE”
Myriad Pictures is pleased to announce the acquisition of RIDE THE EAGLE., a comedy feature directed by Trent O’Donnell (“New Girl,” “No Activity”), written by O’Donnell and Jake Johnson (“New Girl,” Safety Not Guaranteed), who stars alongside Susan Sarandon (Thelma & Louise, Dead Man Walking), J.K. Simmons (Whiplash, Juno) and D'Arcy Carden (“The Good Place,” “Barry”).

Myriad Pictures acquired the international sales rights excluding North America from DECAL and will premiere the film at the 2021 Marche du Film Pre-Cannes Screenings starting June 21ˢᵗ.

When Leif’s (Jake Johnson) estranged mother Honey (Susan Sarandon) dies, she leaves him a “conditional inheritance.” Before he can move into her picturesque Yosemite cabin, he has to complete her elaborate, and sometimes dubious, to-do list. Leif and Nora, his canine BFF, step into Honey’s wild world as she tries to make amends from beyond the grave in this hilarious and heartfelt comedy.

RIDE THE EAGLE is produced by O’Donnell, Johnson, Carden, along with Joe Hardesty (“Dead to Me,” “No Activity”) and Huey Park (“Utopia,” “The Affair”).  Daniel Haworth, Pete Williams  (The New Breed) and Billy Bungeroth (“The Second City Presents: The Last Show Left on Earth”) are co-producers.

Myriad Pictures President and CEO Kirk D'Amico said: “We are very pleased to be working with DECAL and the filmmakers Trent O’Donnell and Jake Johnson to bring this delightful comedy to international distributors. This character-driven film with twists and turns will spread its wings as it soars out to the buyers in Cannes and beyond.”

DECAL, launched earlier this year, and will release RIDE THE EAGLE theatrically in the US.

The deal was negotiated by DECAL’s Senior Vice President, Acquisitions  Ayo Kepher-Maat and Myriad Pictures’ Senior Vice President of Distribution & Acquisitions, Scott Bedno.
