Films of Purpose find a voice for a decade during 75th Cannes Film Festival with United Nations supported NGO

For a decade the Queen Consort of Eti-Oni the oldest cocoa plantation in Nigeria, Her Royal Majesty Queen Angelique-Monet has supported films of purpose, and worked towards providing a platform for the unheard and unseen voices at Cannes Film Festival with her Non Governmental Organization New Generation In Action (NGIA) and main initiative Artisan Festival International World Peace Initiative (AFIWPI), which is a United Nations supported organization in "Consultative Status," through the Economic and Social Council. The year round organization that also supports artisans world wide uses film as the main medium to break barriers and assist in the United Nations SDG2030 Goals to Leave No One Behind. Hosting events at the United Nations Headquarters in NYC, the Hamptons, London, and 10 years at Cannes Film Festival while many of the alumni have gone on to receive major distribution, and a New Generation of artists that are making an impact.

Hollywood veterans that are alumni of the organization include Danny Glover, Ron Perlman, Graham Greene, Jeff Bridges, Bryce Dallas Howard, the late Peter O'Toole, Barry Alexander Brown and this year laurette's include Claudia Gerini and Gianluca Chakra.  This year the organization hosted three major events "World Peace & Tolerance Royal Gala and World Peace & Tolerance Summit.  During the Gala on May 19th set from 8:30pm-11:30pm hosted by Sicilian Region Sport and Entertainment and Sicilian Film Commission at Casa Sicilia located  at the historic 5 Star Hotel Majestic Salon on the Croisette. Films from around the world were honored and a few will be utilized to promote world peace and tolerance in the year round programming. Throughout the year, the NGO promotes films to be used for educational awareness and platforms and some films have even had a platform at the United Nations Headquarters. This includes Professor Kar Bardosh 3D documentary Tagore's Natir Puja: The Court Dancer which had a platform at the mission of Sri Lanka co-sponsored event commemorating International Day of Sport for the Development of Peace on Friday April 6, 2018 and also documentary Ahimsa: Gandhi, The Power of His Message, written by and director Ramesh Sharma that debuted partially during a ceremony at the United Nations Headquarters on Monday October 2, 2017, in conjunction with the observance of the International Day of Non-Violence.

Additional films that have been a year round education and support after receiving awards include two time Oscar nominee Barry Alexander Browns "Son of the South," Executive Produced by Oscar winner Spike Lee, and the body of work from Mrs. Cheryl Halpern who has a long standing record of public service and has served three U.S. Presidents as former director of Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and her company HQ Creative LLC is an Emmy Award winning production company.  "Two Zions: The Living Legacy of the Queen of Sheba and King Solomon,"  "Wishmakers,"  the "Maurits Kiek Story" and "Kanda Bode" have been instrumental for educational purposes.

Films of purpose range from social justice, world peace and tolerance, preservation of culture, environmental/conservation, a special emphasis on films about people of African descent and Indigenous heritage, and pioneering a platform for smartphone, new age content producing and Artificial Intelligence. Many of the films listed by the organization will assist in mentorship, distribution, and exhibition post Cannes 2022 Film Festival awards.

"We are very proud of being able to host our program at Cannes Film Festival for a decade now and are very proud of our alumni. Certainly in these times platforms such as ours are essential and to have a hub such as the Cannes Marketplace where these voices that often go unheard can now be heard and seen means a lot. Here we are a home and a family and everyone that attends our events and also has been an alumni, are a New Generation of artists that have an action plan to help sustain our world and live together in harmony and with Mother Nature. None of us is perfect but we do our best to use our artistic skills to show the world, what a New Generation can do and become, so we look forward to a brighter tomorrow and future generations" stated Founder, Her Royal Majesty Queen Angelique-Monet of Eti-Oni.
