As a third-party equity investor, Grandave Capital is involved with THE CARD COUNTER, a Paul Shrader directed movie starring Tiffany Hadish, Oscar Iasaac, Tye Sheridan, and Willem Defoe, Martin Scorsese serves as executive producer.

When they are not investing as third party equity investor, a very unique aspect of Grandave Capital, is that they have dedicated a large amount of funding to their production arm Broken English Productions to focus on Latinx movie and TV projects..Christopher Acebo, a recipient of two OVATION awards and an inaugural recipient of the Latino Theater Commons Award for Outstanding Advocacy for Latina/o Voices, will serve as President of the newly formed production company whose mission is to center Latinx stories.
Acebo, a director, designer and producer for film and live events, has been the Associate Artistic Director of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon for the past 13 seasons. His work at OSF included collaborating on season planning, developing new plays, creative team selection, casting, strategic planning and producing all productions at the festival. He is a working artist and production designer, who currently serves on the Oregon Arts Commission, and a former board of director for Theatre Communications Group. He was part of the founding steering committee of the Latinx Theatre Commons and created and produced the Latinx Play Project at OSF. As a Director he created AMERICAN MARIACHI for South Coast Rep and Arizona Theater Company which was the largest selling production in that theatres 30-year history. In Portland, he directed Lynn Nottages Pulitzer Prize winning play SWEAT for Profile Theater. As a set and costume designer he has designed over 75 productions including the world premiere and subsequent Broadway production of the 2014 Tony Award winning best play ALL THE WAY by Robert Schenkkan starring Bryan Cranston.

Preschutti, Nagahiro and Acebo will be participants of the 2020 Virtual Cannes Market.

Broken English Productions will start announcing their slate during the market.

Stanley’s quote “I couldn’t be more excited to be launching an independent film finance company and working with Broken English Productions in support of emerging LATINX writers and directors on socially relevant material that will cross over commercially. Our partners have been incredibly supportive at all levels, our team is first rate. The summation is that we are a well backed company, which will be effectively delivering meaningful content.”

Tamara’s quote
“As a Latina-Japanese-American, I'm thrilled to be part of a team whose work will introduce quality content that reflects our culturally diverse world. We’re seeking distribution partners that believe in stories about POC (People of Color), told by POC, while striving to secure oppor-tunities for POC on both sides of the camera. There has not been a more critical time than now to pursue our mission of bringing diversity and inclusivity to the screen.”

Christopher’s quote
“My work in the American theater, especially in the last decade, has been to advocate for artists of color and deepen my work as a designer and creative producer. That work has lead me to this exciting intersection. The guiding principle for Broken English Productions is to center Latinx stories and pivot from the narrative of the dominant culture. We are living in an unprecedented time and it’s a critical moment to look at what got us here and what is the way forward. We are placing our starting point within the complexity of the Latinx experience and I’m thrilled to see where that may lead us in shifting the narrative of film making.”
