FORT LAUDERDALE: The 37th Annual Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival will run November 4 – 13, 2022 with 200 films from 40 or so countries.  FLIFF uses its own arthouses: Gateway Cinema (4 screens), Savor Cinema and Cinema Paradiso Hollywood along with The AutoNation IMAX.

Opening Night takes place at Hard Rock Live, a 2,000-seat space which also hosts the afterparty all put together by Festival major sponsor Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino (who also host FLIFF’s June 9th Party atop Hard Rock Hotel New York).  The following evening, Festival Chairman, Steven Savor opens his estate, Villas de Palma to filmmakers, press and sponsors.  The sprawling 30.000 sq ft waterfront mansion will host 600 revelers that evening.

Opening Sunday, the Savoir Faire, a 125’ yacht takes the filmmakers on a brunch cruise, eventually tying up at the IMAX for a screening of SECRETS OF THE SEA, with director Jonathan Bird and narrator Joelle Carter introduced by marine wildlife artist and conservationist Guy Harvey.

FLIFF appropriately closes with an outdoor beach screening & party (appropriate for the WHERE THE BOYS ARE locale).

FLIFF is proud to announce $50,000 in prize money for the Jury Awards, to be given for Best Foreign Film, American Indie, Documentary, Short and Florida Film.  Student film winners will also receive cash in each category.  Cash Awards sponsored by Seminole Hard Rock.  June 1st is early deadline and July 1st regular deadline.  Submit thru FilmFreeway.com.
