Stars portraits by Catherine Vinay exhibition at the MiramarCatherine Vinay exhibits her personal collection of 33 snapshots taken the last 20 years at the festival.
Photos are exhibited together with a short text describing the shooting conditions... He is rumored to be in attendance for the Festival’s 40th Anniversary but not even the paparazzi have managed to spot him.Since 1983, the Festival is being held in Sir Bennett and François Druet’s purpose-built Palais, whose windowless and raw concrete walls have earned it the unflattering nickname of “Le Bunker”. Anyway, this is the best spot for Mr Handsome to be hiding.I have no choice but to pace about the new location, amidst fellow addicts. I rush up and down the stairs, four at a time; I ride the elevators up, and then all the way down again; -alas, “ear-pieced” security guards stand sentinel by each and every single door! And the Press Room is nowhere to be found.Having climbed my way up yet another time, I end up out in the open, on the Palais’ roof, no less. I take a few hesitant steps alongside the edge of the building, only half-jokingly telling the few partners in crime around me “Please don’t push”. Indeed this is everything but a stunt, and there is no safe-rail yet.But when I look down, I see Paul Newman and his wife Joanne Woodward, striking a pose for photographers. This is a stolen photo, taken from the Palais’ roof where I never managed to go back. 30.04.2007 | Cannes's blog Cat. : Bennett Cannes Cannes Catherine Vinay CDATA François Druet Handsome Joanne Woodward Miramar, San Diego Paparazzi Paul Newman Singles XML
