'FREEDOM DEAL' production continues in Cambodia, with additional behind the scenes stills and video

The FREEDOM DEAL movie team continued shooting over the August 11-12, 2012 weekend, returning to the East side of the Mekong river in Cambodia to continue production on their unique US-Vietnam war era drama, taking place in Cambodia during Nixon's 1970 'Cambodia Incursion'.

Catch a glimpse behind the scenes through some stills and video HERE, along with some video and some PR shots with talent on location.
See behind the scenes pix and info from the August 5-6, 2012 shoot of the FREEDOM DEAL effort, below.

FREEDOM DEAL takes place in Cambodia during the April-May 1970 US-ARVN 'Cambodia Incursion' as the US-Vietnam conflict expanded into Cambodia. The story is told primarily from the point of view of a ragtag pair of Cambodian refugees and a young peacenick US GI who grudgingly participates in the military operation.

More stills from August's shoot in Cambodia HERE...

We were 'run and gunning' it straight through most days with hardly a break, so not much time to stop and set up standard on-set still photography, but folks should get an idea of the look, feel, and PROGRESS of the effort nonetheless.

Thanks again for the support of our contributors from our recent production fundraising campaign on IndieGogo -
we could not have made it this far without your assistance!

As can be seen in the stills, the entire production involves training and hands-on skills building of Cambodian crew and cast as a key part of Camerado's continuing goal in helping contribute to a viable film industry here, following the complete destruction of many art forms (including cinema) during the Khmer Rouge regime.

Therefore, any contributions and support of our movie project here also helps in many, many other ways besides the making of a super-kool and unique social issue drama in SE Asia.

Our ultimate goal is to leverage the current short movie version of 'Freedom Deal' we're now making (based on a section of the completed feature screenplay) to achieve financing for the fully-produced feature: with top-notch international heads of all departments working alongside local crew and cast, name talent for the key US GI roles, full vehicles, FX, pyrotechnics, postproduction, and more.
