There are the Greatest Final Scenes in Horror Movie History

Do you love to watch horror movies? One of the things people like about this genre is the suspense. You do not always know who the killer is or who their next victim will be. What’s more, the gore can be artistic and really demonstrate the terror and fear of the situation.

Over the years, there have been some huge horror movies. From Saw and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre to The Ring and The Conjuring. But, what are the greatest final scenes in horror movie history? Let’s take a look at them before we are dragged to Hell.

Halloween (1978) - IMDb

Everyone has heard of Halloween and while the original movie is still the most-loved, there have been many since then that shows how Mike Myers continues to terrorize the neighborhood. In particular, the final scene is one that leaves the story on a cliff-hanger and it sends chills down your spine. It shows Laurie, played by Jamie Lee Curtis, trying to escape from Mike Myers before the police officer comes into the house. There is eerie music playing in the background and you are expecting the man in the mask to kill her. This is before the detective comes in and shoots him. He is unmasked in this final scene before he falls off the balcony. Indeed, it looks like the villain is dead. But, when the detective goes to get the body, he finds that he is gone, disappearing into the night. He is still out there.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) - IMDb

We cannot talk about horror movies and not discuss the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Millions of people around the world love this movie and as a consequence, there was a remake many years later. In particular, the final scene is one that sticks with a lot of people. Of course, he is a killer with his favorite weapon being a chainsaw. While he tortures people, one person manages to get away. This is Sally and she is seen getting in a truck and escaping at the end of the money. Of course, you are always cheering on one person to make it away from all of the danger. She manages to escape the home and makes her break for freedom. But, the chilling part of this scene is that Leatherface sees her leaving and is angry, with a shot of him chasing her in the truck with the chainsaw. He almost gets to her before the truck races away, as she screams hysterically and is covered in blood. This could give you inspiration for your own movie and you should check out stock footage to give you some more ideas.

Paranormal Activity

Paranormal Activity: The Ultimate Collection: DVD et Blu-ray

If you are a fan of ghost stories and evil spirits, then you know that Paranormal Activity is a movie to add to your list. This goes down in history as a one-of-a-kind movie and people were rushing to experience the horror in the theater. Many people confessed that they were disturbed and scared by the movie and that they had to sleep with the light on after watching it. The movie is all about a normal couple in their home and how a paranormal presence is making their life a living hell. But, if the whole movie does not scare you, you know that the ending scene will. It takes place in the middle of the night, showing the woman getting out of bed and looking possessed. Then, she stares at her husband who is asleep before throwing him at the camera, suddenly launching herself at the camera to scare the audience.

The Blair Witch Project

The Blair Witch Project [DVD] by Heather Donahue: DVD et Blu-ray

Have you heard of The Blair Witch Project before? This is a movie that soon captured a lot of attention. The funny thing about the Blair Witch Project is that a lot of people thought it was real. That is, the footage was really taken in Burkittsville, Maryland. However, it is actually a fictional story where students are trying to find the Blair Witch. Thus, the movie is displayed in the way that it looks like footage that the students capture. The end is truly horrifying as one of the students hears screams and sees one of her friends possessed. But, if you were looking for answers, you are not going to get any. The ending consists of the camera being dropped and you are not sure what happens next. There are so many elements that make this ending memorable. For example, the fact that they are exploring an abandoned show in the dark, the lack of sound or any music playing, as well as the intense search for Mike. But, one thing’s for sure, the other students find Mike and he is not himself. Perhaps they found the Blair Witch after all.
