Martin Scorsese Masterclass in Cannes

The 4-year wait is over! Jurassic World Dominion is set to come to our screens in June!

Jurassic World movie enthusiasts have had to wait four long years for the next instalment, however they are now finally able to get excited about the upcoming edition of the hit franchise.

Jurassic World Dominion is the sixth instalment of the iconic series that had initially started in 1993 by Steven Spielberg, and it could appear to be the final one to ever be made, too, at least as of the time of writing.

When is Jurassic World Dominion released and who is in it?

Currently, Jurassic World Dominion has been scheduled to be released in theatres all over the world on June 10, 2022. As highlighted, it has been four years since the previous motion picture, with Fallen Kingdom having been released in 2018.

This will likely have fans of the franchise expecting big things from the movie, especially as they have had to wait for a long period of time. Of course, not all of the delays were the studio’s fault, but they have given themselves a good chance with the cast that they have.

There will be actors from two generations of the film franchise, with each of them clashing for the very first time, which is going to have fans extremely excited. Owen Grady - who is played by Chris Pratt - and Claire Dearing (played by Bryce Dallas Howard) will meet and join the team of original characters Alan Grant (Sam Neill), Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), and Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), thus making things extremely exciting for new and older fans!

What is the plot of the film?

Whilst Jurassic World Dominion has taken four years to be released, the film actually takes place four years after Isla Nublar was destroyed in Jurassic World 2 and remains a volcanic wasteland after originally being the home to Jurassic World.

As a result, the dinosaurs who inhabited the island have since left and have decided to live and hunt all over the world, subsequently taking over as the dominant species. Humans are wondering what their purpose on earth is amongst these giant creatures, which is why the two teams have teamed up as they look to solve the problem that has arisen.

Jurassic Park has been a global phenomenon

Indeed, the popularity of the Jurassic Park series is something that is undeniable, as everywhere you go you will be able to witness various merchandise and products that look to use the brand image that has been developed.

There have been a number of video games to have been created, whilst there has even been a slot game to have been made available. In truth, this is hardly a surprise, though, as movie-themed slots have proven to be rather popular with punters all around the world. This has led developers to take inspiration from these themes and continually release them as playable titles. Of course, if you are interested in knowing more about these slots and want to know when new movie-themed games are being released, you can always visit the 32Red blog, as the operator keeps players up-to-date with all of the latest news.

Other forms of merchandise to have been made available include clothing lines with the famous logo plastered on them, whilst there have even been stationary sets, and other daily household items to proudly display the iconic logo.

Why will we not see any more of these films?

As mentioned, it is possible that the Jurassic World Dominion movie will be the last in the historic franchise, as there has been no news about another instalment just yet.

Lead actor Pratt suggested that he believed it would be the final one, although when something has proven to be as lucrative as it has to Hollywood and Universal Pictures, it would not be a surprise if they continued to try and churn the story out further and milk this particular cash cow for all it is worth!

Nonetheless, we might have to wait and see how well Jurassic World Dominion manages to do at the Box Office in the next few weeks before we get a firm idea about what possible direction this movie and the franchise can go in.
